  • The World Water Council is proud to be a stakeholder of the Water Governance Initiative in collaboration with the OECD. As we work closer together, the OECD continues to play an active role at the World Water Forum. The World Water Council is thrilled to continue nourishing this important partnership, and we were glad to do so during the 20th meeting of the OECD Water Governance Initiative. Together, we strive to foster sustainable water management and effective governance globally.

  • 🌍💧 United for Water Security At the 7th International Rain Enhancement Forum (IREF), the President of the World Water Council emphasized the urgent need to address global population growth, particularly in Africa, which demands vast water resources. Innovations such as rain enhancement, desalination, and wastewater recycling are key to meeting these challenges. Beyond arid regions, we must also tackle water excess, devastating floods, and pollution in megacities. Loïc Fauchon highlighted the Council's experience in organizing water forums and called for closer collaboration with Abu Dhabi for the upcoming UN Water Conference in late 2026, ahead of the 11th World Water Forum in Riyad, 2027. Hydrodiplomacy is essential to securing a sustainable water future.
