He’s the Uncle Lyrics

[Verse]
And now we see eye to eye
That another man's trash is collectible
And every weakness is correctable
Be leaving here quite soon now
Be pushing off to the moon now
And now I have had quite a time
And the mosh pit is filled with memorabilia
And if you'd have stayed, they'd have killed ya
Be taking you home anytime now
And I had a very nice time, now

[Chorus]
We are not so cold, are we?
They are not so bold, are they?
And I am getting old, aren't I?

[Solo]

[Chorus]
We are not so cold, are we?
They are not so bold, are they?
And I am getting old, aren't I?

[Outro]
And how did you like my clothes?
I wore them so that they wouldn't dump us

About

Genius Annotation

“He’s the Uncle” was recorded during sessions with Steve Albini in 1995 and considered on several early tracklists for Under the Bushes Under the Stars, though it was eventually dropped. It was released, along with other Under the Bushes outtakes, in 1996 on the band’s split with Superchunk.

On one promotional cassette of scrapped album The Flying Party is Here!, this song is listed with the alternate title “Pluto is Polluted”. This title was also used for a different song, an acoustic version of which was a 1994 demo for Alien Lanes that was released on Suitcase 3 in 2009. That other song would be re-recorded by Pollard’s band Boston Spaceships in 2010.
