“Married with Children” is inspired, in parts, by Noel’s relationship with his then girlfriend Louise Jones, and an American sitcom called Married… With Children.

The song was originally made in spring 1993. Liam said it was recorded in producer Mark Coyle’s bedroom, with him, Noel and Mark sitting on the bed, and that it was finished in about half an hour. Coyle then made a mix of it in his home studio, first appearing on the band’s 1993 demo tape. When it was included as the final track on their debut album Definitely Maybe it was left untouched and there is no known second recording of it.
