Business is great! The UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC) is excited to share updates from our ongoing UKGCC/ Ghana JET Auto Road Show trade mission to the UK! The trade mission is focused on strengthening bilateral #trade and #investment between Ghana and the UK, specifically in the automotive sector—covering Electric Vehicles (#EVs) and the #auto aftermarket.
Day One began with a visit to the Ghana High Commission - UK, where our delegation comprising, Valerie Labi, Co-Founder of Wahu Mobility Ltd.; Erik Nygard, Founder and CEO of Kofa; and Nicholas Agyakwa, CEO of Nic’s Auto Parts, met with Mawutor Alifo, Head of Chancery; Diana Addo, Head of Trade and Investment; and Akua Aboagye-Gyan, Minister-Counsellor, Head of Political/Economic Affairs. The High Commission expressed their strong support for our trade mission and emphasised their commitment to facilitating the delegation’s #business and #trade engagements.
Eugene Sangmortey, Team Leader of the JET Programme - Palladium: Make It Possible, led the delegation together with UKGCC Trade Services Manager, Immaculata King.
The team also visited GHIB- Ghana International Bank, a UK-based UKGCC member company, to explore trade #finance opportunities for Ghanaian and UK businesses. The Bank’s leadership, including Raymond Sambou, Deputy CEO; Francis Kojo Ackah, MBA, CITF., Relationship Manager - Trade Finance; and Richard Agbenu, Chief Commercial Officer, discussed avenues to enhance trade financing and support cross-border partnerships.
Stay tuned as we continue our B2B meetings in London and Birmingham throughout the week, connecting with stakeholders in the automotive industry and exploring opportunities in the Ghanaian market.
