We are thrilled to share that Inspiring Teachers Ghana has been shortlisted for Global Schools Forum's Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Impact at Scale Labs Program. If selected, we will be supported in expanding our Tools for Foundational Learning Improvement (TFLI) program to support teachers in government schools in Ghana's Central Region. Congrats also to 11 other teams that were also shortlisted and our partners at Center for Professional Development, Training and Education (CPDTEGH). Shout out to the IDP Foundation, Inc. Mastercard Foundation, MEST Africa and Jacobs Foundation, MIT Solve and Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), and the IEPA and National Teaching Council, who have partnered with us and whose support forward an application we were proud of.
🎉 It's time to announce the organisations and their innovations shortlisted for the Impact at Scale Labs – Foundational Literacy and Numeracy programme. These organisations have been selected for the opportunity to receive coaching, up to $200,000 in funding, and extended support as they develop and implement evidence-based strategies to scale their impactful solutions. Peepul: The programme’s core focus is to implement a high-engagement classroom pedagogy at scale to enhance learning outcomes in government schools. Angaza Elimu: Using GenAI to advance practical structured teacher support to teach at the right level framework for enhanced foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes in Kenyan public primary schools. Axium Education: The Nobalisa Programme trains and supports young people, employed through the government's Social Employment Fund. Centre for Learning Resources (CLR) (consortium with Leadership for Equity): The project aims to address three critical gaps at the system level that can translate into better teaching-learning practices & improved student learning. Duara Education: Montessori-inspired, project-driven, and integrated into the community, enabling impactful teaching-at-the-right-level to achieve FLN learning outcomes and holistic education. EducAid Sierra Leone: Focuses on training school leaders and teachers on the Ten Strategy Booklet, providing continuous coaching, creating professional networks, and engaging the communities to ensure their support. eKitabu: The innovation transforms classrooms into sign-language-rich learning environments. The solution’s components tackle persistent problems affecting deaf children’s language & literacy learning. Inspiring Teachers Ghana: Curriculum-aligned, structured pedagogy program that helps teachers use systematic phonics teaching and in-classroom assessment-informed targeted instruction. Instill Education: A micro-credentialing model that delivers teaching credentials aligned with national frameworks in a scalable, affordable and practical manner. Programmes are broken down into short, bite-sized, stackable micro-credentials. Link Community Development Malawi: Training packs and continuous professional development materials that support the use of Inclusive Education techniques at all stages of teaching, from lesson planning to delivery to assessment. Right To Play Ghana: Enhancing the quality of the cascading of the Teacher Professional Development for teachers in public and private schools with a focus on Basic 1-3 through a blended (online and in-person) training. Room to Read: A wholistic program improves learning outcomes by (1) frequent in-service teacher training (and pre-service support) in early grade literacy, (2) engaging dedicated Literacy Facilitators who provide coaching and mentoring support to an appropriate number of schools.
