Percy Jackson has found its Thalia. David Cronenberg’s next movie is eyeing a Spring 2025 release. Plus, what to expect in Dune: Prophecy‘s take on the Bene Gesserit, and what’s coming on The Penguin. Spoilers now!
Wolf Man
During a recent interview with Empire, Wolf Man director Leigh Whannell stated he didn’t want his latest remake to be “nostalgic or a retro Wolf Man [movie] in any way.”
Upgrade was more sci-fi action. I was watching a lot of domestic thrillers when I wrote The Invisible Man, because I love that genre. [Wolf Man] is me saying, ‘I just wanted to make something that is straight-up, pure horror.’
I think of it as a companion piece to The Invisible Man. I didn’t want this film to be a nostalgic or a retro Wolf Man film in any way. [I was] actually writing down in my notepad everything that’s been done, and then saying, ‘Okay, that’s the list of what not to do.’ I’m hoping that you go in and say, ‘Oh wow, I haven’t seen that werewolf movie before,’ when the lights come up.
The Shrouds

Percy Jackson and the Olympians
According to The Wrap, Tamara Smart has joined the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘ second season as Thalia Grace, the daughter of Zeus. The character is described as “a powerful warrior, a fiercely loyal friend and a demigod rebel with a very ‘punk’/‘rage-against-the-machine’ sensibility.”
Untitled Harley Quinn Spinoffs
In conversation with Comic Book, Harley Quinn executive producer Dean Lorey confirmed more spinoff series’ are on the way.
We love where we’re at right now with what we’ve been calling the ‘Harleyverse. ‘It’s very exciting to have multiple projects coming out that we’ve been working on. I mean, Kite Man was a major step for us, to be able to bring that out. I know that a lot of people were kind of wondering why we would pick Kite Man as the first character to come out with, because there are a lot of characters. And we talked about many things, but we thought he was sort of a fun, easy person to start with. Plus, he has a giant potential redemption arc for himself. And so we thought we would do that. We have a lot of other ones that we’re really hoping to bring out, things that are pretty deep in development. We really want to build the universe out, and we’ve gotten a lot of support from James Gunn and Peter Safran, and Warner Brothers Animation is really behind it. So we’re really looking forward to building out this world. I wish I could [say more]. In fact, I’m desperate to. But I can’t. I’m hoping to have some news relatively soon on at least one of them. Believe me, nobody wants to talk about it more than me.
