This event was all about advancing the future of clean hydrogen energy! 🔹The LYDIA project was showcased at the European Project Pavilion with a booth, where we welcomed key stakeholders from across the hydrogen and energy sectors, eager to learn about our innovative breakthroughs. We also hosted a 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 on LYDIA's technologies, sharing progress and achievements. It was a great opportunity to connect, share insights, and spark interest among potential collaborators. 💡 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗬𝗗𝗜𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲? ·       Advanced methods for 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 (𝗣𝗚𝗠𝘀) to create new electrocatalysts from recycled or impure solutions. ·       Successful recovery of 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗡𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗼𝗻), which are ready to be reused in new MEAs, reducing waste and costs. 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗦 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘆𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 – 𝗔 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁!🎒 This week we had the opportunity to visit Byron College - The British International School in Athens, where we demonstrated our 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 as part of the RISBriefcase Project! 💼 This European-funded initiative is all about bringing society closer to the world of minerals and mining, and we were thrilled to engage with the next generation of innovators!💡 Dr. Anastasia Moschovi and Sofia Petrou showcased MONOLITHOS' creation, the 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲, which shines a spotlight on the importance of #PGMs #recycling and their role in our daily lives. From electronics to green technologies, precious minerals play a crucial part! 🌍 But that's not all – we also introduced students to the 𝟯𝗗𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲, a multimedia educational tool that lets them virtually explore underground and open mines, while also discovering minerals in 3D! The students were full of energy, asking insightful questions and diving deep into the experience! 🛠️🎓 Additionally, we had the pleasure of introducing students to the 3DRETURN Project, that we have the honor to coordinate. It was an honor to host Lucie Nélissen and Adjei Dickson in our lab and industrial premises, where they made use of our facilities and equipment for their Master’s thesis research. 🎓👏 Their work advanced groundbreaking research in 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 (𝗣𝗚𝗠𝘀) from #spent #automotive #catalyticconverters, reinforcing our commitment to the #circulareconomy. ♻️ 👨🔬 Adjei Dickson (University of Oulu-Finland, Montanuniversität Leoben) dedicated 6 months to developing a cutting-edge method for 𝗣𝗚𝗠𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 using deep eutectic solvents, achieving outstanding recovery rates in a 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. 👩🔬 Lucie Nélissen (GeMMe@ULiege team at the University of Liège) spent 1.5 months conducting successful 𝗣𝗚𝗠𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 tests using the cementation approach on 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, recovering PGMs in their metallic form.
