CIHT Hong Kong Project Award Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of CIHT-HK, we are conducting a Project Award event to compliment the recently completed outstanding transportation infrastructure projects which greatly benefits the mobility in Hong Kong. We have short-listed 10 projects and will award to the highest votes through a poll.  The Project Award will be presented in the CIHT-HK Reception Cocktail on 17 January 2025. Our delegates showcased Hong Kong's latest achievements in highway development and smart mobility solutions while gaining inspiring insights from the UAE's groundbreaking transport initiatives. The warm hospitality and openness of our UAE hosts enabled deep, meaningful discussions on shared challenges and innovative solutions. We were particularly impressed by Abu Dhabi's integrated mobility approach and Dubai's pioneering smart transport systems. Support for Tai Lam Tunnel Toll Plan CIHT Hong Kong is pleased to support the Transport and Logistics Bureau and Transport Department's recommendation for a time-varying toll plan for the Tai Lam Tunnel (TLT) as detailed in the recent Legislative Council Brief. This initiative aligns with our professional insights and follows the successful implementation of similar strategies for the cross harbour tunnels.   We are confident that this toll plan will deliver significant benefits to road users, optimizing traffic flow amongst Tuen Mun Road, Tolo Highway and Tai Lam Tunnel, and enhancing overall transportation efficiency. The thoughtful inclusion of time-varying tolls for private cars and motorcycles, along with a fixed toll structure for taxis and other commercial vehicles, demonstrates a well-considered approach to addressing diverse transportation needs.   CIHT remains committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to improved road safety and traffic management. CIHT Hong Kong Heading to Dubai for 40th Anniversary Delegation   Today a 6-day delegation of 25 CIHT Hong Kong members will embark on a study tour to Dubai, UAE. The jam-packed itinerary aims to facilitate knowledge sharing and foster closer ties between the two CIHT regions.   The delegates will tour key transportation facilities, including the Integrated Transport Centre headquarters, a major bridge construction site, and a metro depot. Meetings are also scheduled with the Roads and Transport Authority to learn about Dubai's innovative mobility solutions.   Additionally, the group will participate in a seminar at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, where they will exchange ideas with the local CIHT chapter. Of course, there will also be opportunities to network with CIHT Dubai members over the course of the visit.   Between the site visits and professional meetings, the Hong Kong delegates will enjoy some sightseeing to experience Dubai's world-renowned architecture and vibrant culture.
