Meet Dharma, an 82-year-old Nepalese man After the loss of his wife, Dharma relocated to Hong Kong to live with his family, facing profound loneliness. His life was transformed through our community initiatives. ********** My name is Dharma. I am 82 and I lost my wife, so I joined my son to live in Hong Kong in 2016. I live with my son, his wife and their children. I am alone all day because my son and his wife work, and I miss my wife so much. I have been lonely for a long time. I found out about The Zubin Foundation gatherings for the elderly, and I now join them every Friday. I have made friends, which is difficult when you are my age. Every week I arrive early and get in the queue. I love to meet my new friends and now have something to do. Before I would just sit at home and my mind would wander. Thank you for supporting The Zubin Foundation because you have helped me feel happy, and I feel like I belong now. Thank you also to Anuradha for her kindness at The Zubin Foundation. - Dharma, 82, ethnically Nepalese (Name changed to maintain our client’s confidentiality) ********** In 2023, we positively impacted the lives of 12,000 ethnic minority individuals through outreach. • Ways to Partner: https://lnkd.in/dF2GYxgX • About Our Work: https://lnkd.in/gRs2xm2k #TZF4EM #TheZubinFoundation #Opportunity #EM #EthnicMinorities #EMinHK #RacialEqualityHK #少數族裔 #非華語 #Poverty #Discrimination

Meet Neha, a courageous mother sharing her journey with us. _____ My name is Neha, and I am Sahil and Seema’s mum. I have four children, and three of them have a terminal illness. Sahil is 8, and Seema is 4, and they can come to Zubin’s Family Centre, but their younger brother can’t because he is still too young. Sahil and Seema have kidney disease, and they have been given limited time, they are fed through feeding tubes. Both love to come to Zubin’s Family Centre, and they receive English and Chinese tutorials in sanitised conditions. They also love to take the donated books on the bookshelf and bring them home to read. I have been told that Sahil will live to 9 and Seema to 8, and for however long they live, I want to give them the best I can.
