𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐈𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝/𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 At today’s Property Industry Ireland (PII) event on the Housing Commission Report, industry leaders raised urgent concerns about the Zoned/Land Value Sharing (ZVS/LVS) policy, warning it is already slowing land transactions and restricting supply.   "While the sector welcomed certain elements of the Programme for Government, our members are deeply concerned about the proposed Zoned/Land Value Sharing (ZVS/LVS) legislation. We urge the Government to pause further legislative progress until meaningful consultation with industry takes place," said PII Director David Howard.   PII’s newly launched white paper, 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 – 𝘐𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘺 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘋𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, outlines key steps to boost supply, including planning reforms, infrastructure investment, and incentives for apartment delivery. Our EU & International Affairs Director & Business at OECD (BIAC)'s Trade Committee Chair Pat Ivory recently participated in their Consultation with the OECD - OCDE's Leadership & Ambassadors.   Pat provided thoughts to the #OECD on the importance of market openness for trade & a level playing field.

This morning, we held the Belfast launch event for our new macroeconomic model for Northern Ireland and the all-island economy, developed by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR), with the support of Ibec.   A valuable tool for evidence-based policymaking, this joint model will help shape economic insights and decision-making across the island.   Many thanks to Grant Thornton (NI) LLP for hosting, and to our co-hosts CBI Northern Ireland for partnering on this important initiative.

Today, Telecommunications Industry Ireland had an excellent meeting with Patrick O'Donovan TD, Minister for Arts, Media, Communications, Culture and Sport to discuss Storm Éowyn. The telecoms sector looks forward to working collaboratively with Minister O'Donovan and the relevant state agencies to ensure that the network is even more resilient in any future extreme weather events and the learnings from storm Éowyn are applied by both industry and government.
