The London Institute of Banking and Finance, in collaboration with the UCM and the Department of Education, Sport and Culture have devised a Financial Services Apprenticeship Programme whereby employers can put forward members of staff to undertake a HNC for business (level 4 qualification) and an appropriate professional qualification, which would be the initial stage of STEP or CGI for the TCSP market. Employers would have to commit to allowing 1 day per weekday release for apprentices to attend the UCM and full funding for the HNC and 30% of the professional qualification would be funded by the IOM Government. See attached slides for further information. We have been very supportive of this initiative and assisted the Banking Institute in ensuring a CGI module was include. This programme will provide a good grounding in various disciplines with knowledge and understanding of other sectors. This will give school leavers who might not wish to attend university an additional option. We would like to thank the Bankers, and especially Colin Peters, for not giving up on this project and seeing it to fruition. Please consider this scheme for your staff. Juan Moore President
