#EmpoweringGirls #Genderdisparity in education persists as a pressing global issue, disproportionately affecting girls in certain regions. Limited access to #resources such as schools, transportation, and sanitary facilities further impedes girls' education, especially in rural and #marginalizedcommunities . Swasthya Saheli, an adolescent healthcare initiative of the Metropolis Foundation in collaboration with BharatCares is making significant strides in an attempt to bridge these gaps. Launched in October of 2023, with IMPAct4Nutrition (I4N) Platform, functioning as the technical knowledge partner, this initiative has successfully impacted a total of #54570 adolescent girls with knowledge convergence and #training sessions. #NationalGirlChildDay On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, BharatCares, with support from the Metropolis Foundation under the Swasthya Saheli Initiative, Kishori Manch organised a special event centred on the theme of "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future”. A pre-event chart-making competition was organized for Kishori Manch members, challenging them to visually map out key issues faced by adolescent girls and propose innovative solutions. Participants from 160 Kishori Manch groups and approximately 3,200 adolescent girls across various schools engaged in the event. The competition successfully encouraged critical thinking, leadership skills, and social awareness among young adolescent girls. The concluding event of the chart-making competition was hosted at Shashkiya Madhyamik Ashram Shala, Waghale, with 132 adolescent girls in attendance (122 from the host school and 10 from other schools). The entire event was seamlessly organised by the Kishori Manch groups—Laxmi, Durga, and Deomogra—who took charge of various responsibilities. Their efforts included anchoring the event, arranging seating for guests and girls, distributing food, and managing backstage operations and decorations. Their efficient coordination and leadership ensured the event's smooth execution and set a remarkable example of teamwork and initiative. The event was graced by the presence of Shri Shankar Nikaje, Extension Officer, WCD Nandurbar, who emphasized women's crucial role in India's progress. The Gram Panchayat Waghale Sevika’s Smt. Sangita Gangurde, Smt. Shrimati Suman Gavit, Smt. Shrimati Ujawala tai, and Smt. Shrimati Kalpana tai were present from the village and engaged with the girls after the event. Winning presentations from four schools addressed critical social issues: 1. Anudanit Ashram Shala, Joginipada on the theme 'Hormonal Imbalance' 2. Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Lonkedha on the theme 'Girl Child Labour' 3. Shashkiya Madhyamik Ashram Shala, Waghale on the theme 'Female Foeticide' 4.
