Boards can be great strategic aids to accelerate the growth of a company. Unfortunately, they are still grossly underleveraged with too much attention to compliance and corporate governance. Consequently, too little attention is given on using boards to aid, future proof and grow the business. The winds of change have begun and are bound to accelerate in the future. However, it is very important that sufficient thought is given to the board construct ensuring not only diversity but different functional experience to help organizations grow in today`s BANI world where business fortunes can change overnight. We conducted a survey for Times of India with over 200 board members as respondents. Please see the article as below. Would love to get you thoughts on the same, especially what you think will help boards become efficient. What needs to change that will accelerate this ? Executive Access India The Times Of India

AI will be transformational for the organisations who can maximise its benefits, whilst not losing the human skills and qualities, particularly in areas of creativity, empathy, communication and analysis, which have made them successful to date. Humans will remain very much essential because they are human, but relying simply on this will not be enough in a competitive AI-led landscape. It is incumbent on the humans leading and developing these organisations to identify the right people, skills and team evolution that can make the transition to AI transformation a success. In the final chapter of our report issued earlier this year: ‘Human Capital – Can we bring artificial and human intelligence together?’ we look at how organisations are integrating AI into their workplaces to enhance their human capital, rather than replace it. The knowledge and expertise within the global AI ecosystem is still quite tightly contained and that presents a significant challenge for mass adoption and means a greater consolidation of control in a smaller number of companies or individuals. If AI is to generate the revolution in workforce development and deployment, greater knowledge and skills enhancement is paramount. More transparency will be essential to ensure ethical practice. Investment at an operational and strategic level both in the technology, but even more importantly in developing skills, is the simple reality for organisations looking to succeed. If you are interested in this particular area or would like to find out understand some of the priorities senior executives need to be considering as they progress in the AI journey take a look at this chapter from Marcus Giorgi from Panorama partner firm EXEC in Brazil. The wider report is available here.
