Scotland is eighteen months into it's Planet Youth journey, so now is a good time to reflect upon how that is going. Not from us though! Our six pilot areas; Angus, Argyll & Bute, Clackmannanshire, Dundee, Highland, and West Dunbartonshire are the true representatives of the commitment and hard work that has taken Planet Youth from strength to strength - and it's their reflections that matter. Vicki from Highland tells us what excites her about the future of Planet Youth in this video! https://lnkd.in/eQ7Ft56W #planetyouth #scotland #preventionwork #upstream #communitybuilding #youngpeopleinscotland #buildingbetterfutures

  • An interesting article in The Hamilton Spectator highlights the partnership between #PlanetYouth and, The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit in Canada, focusing on reducing youth substance use. The article also discusses the success of the Icelandic Prevention Model, which has famously reduced substance use among young people in Iceland. We are thrilled to partner with those Canadian communities, working together to create healthier futures for their youth. As health promoter Josh Daley told the health board, “The Icelandic model eschews targeted awareness campaigns and one-off educational events in favour of a broader approach that sees society as the patient.” This long-term mentality is essential to ensuring long-lasting, meaningful change through community-driven prevention. We are proud to be a part of the Haldimand-Norfolk journey. Together, we are making meaningful strides in supporting youth wellbeing through collaboration and data-driven solutions.
