Can manufacturing lead the way in sustainability? 🌱 Europe’s manufacturing sector is a cornerstone of the economy but also one of the largest consumers of resources. By embracing Circular Economy principles like remanufacturing, we can chart a practical path toward reducing waste, conserving resources, and fostering sustainable growth. At STAM, we are proud to collaborate with Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation, and Comau as part of the RENÉE EU Project, supporting Decathlon in a groundbreaking use case. Together, we’re developing an innovative quality control station where robots and operators work seamlessly side by side to ensure the highest quality standards for second-hand bicycles 🚲 This advanced station leverages cutting-edge technologies and sensors to collect precise, objective data about the condition of bicycle components. These quality insights will feed into a comprehensive traceability system on Decathlon’s platform. This system not only guarantees consistent quality but also enables end-to-end tracking of components throughout the entire remanufacturing process ♻️. At STAM, we believe in the power of partnerships to drive meaningful change—and this collaboration is proof that manufacturing can indeed lead the way toward a more sustainable future.

Giovanni Gaggero – AIRFIELD SECURITY srl, Spin-off UniGe.
