We had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Alexandre Regina from Campus France at DeKUT, where he engaged with our students and French exchange interns currently at DeKUT. His visit was inspiring and insightful, as he shared invaluable knowledge on the benefits of international academic experiences in enriching education and fostering global opportunities. Students gained a deeper understanding of studying in France, including semester exchanges and degree programs. Mr. Alexandre highlighted the transformative impact of embracing new cultures, learning new languages, and developing a global outlook—essential for personal and professional growth in today’s interconnected world. Moses is a Mechatronic Engineering student from DeKUT who had an enriching internship experience in Merseburg, Germany, through the IAESTE exchange program.  At Merseburg University of Applied Sciences, he worked in the mobile robotics laboratory, gaining hands-on experience with the ROS framework. This opportunity allowed him to explore the functions and components of mobile robots, as well as contribute to the development of key systems, including sensors, environment perception, and trajectory planning.  His time there not only enhanced his technical skills but also broadened his understanding of robotics in an international context. #dekutoutgoingstudents #mechatronicengineering #iaesteinternships #studentexchange #dekutio

Meet Denis a master’s student in Food Science & Technology at DeKUT. Denis recently completed a 3 month internship in Germany through the IAESTE exchange programme.  He worked within a young, international team whose members have diverse backgrounds, research topics and expertise. The overall aim of the research he was involved in was helping to better understand biogeochemical cycles within agricultural and wetland ecosystems. He was involved in finding better ways to locally close nutrient cycles, secure soil fertility and thus food security as well as to mitigate global climate change by reducing GHG (CO2, CH4 and N2O) emissions. Denis had the chance to work on different interesting topics, not only in the laboratory, but also on a number of field locations spread over North-East Germany, including inter-alia the Spreewald (Project: ICAW2) and Uckermark region (Project: WIN-N). #foodscience #iaesteoutgoing #iaestedekut #dekutoutgoing #dekutinternships #internationaloffice
