Can you briefly introduce yourself? Hello, I am Cho Seongjin, in charge of HV switchgear design at Hyosung Heavy Industries. I am responsible for the design and engineering of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) that ensures the safety of power transmission systems. I work on product designs for various domestic and international markets and clients. I am always committed to reflecting our customers' requirements and ensuring that high-quality products are delivered and operate reliably.   Q. What do you consider to be your biggest achievement at Hyosung Heavy Industries? I believe my biggest achievement was expanding Hyosung Heavy Industries' products in the Middle Eastern market. In particular, I successfully led the expansion of our products from 132kV to 420kV in the Saudi Arabian market, which laid the foundation for us to supply products throughout the Middle East.   Q. What is the biggest insight you gained from your work? Entering a new market always brings fear, but through communication with customers, I was able to accurately reflect their technical needs and learn a lot through the process of continuous effort and achieving results.   Q. What does being good at your job mean to you? I believe being good at your job means being good at communication. It’s not just about being able to converse well, but rather about clearly understanding and reflecting the needs and desires of customers, colleagues, and the organization. The order-receiving results began with a large-scale phase-shifting transformer project for National Grid (UK), followed by an order from the Norwegian state-run power company in July. This was further expanded with switchgear orders from various customers, including Iceland, Sweden, and others. The EU market shows an increase in investment in the transmission grid due to rising power consumption. Therefore, it is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in the global power market, based on its customized response to various requirements and its reputation for reliable, high-quality products. 🎤 2024 Marks 10 Trillion Won in Cumulative Switchgear Production The Changwon plant of Hyosung Heavy Industries has achieved a cumulative production of 10 trillion won(approximately $7 billion) in switchgear for the first time as a Korean local manufacturer of heavy electrical equipment. Since the company started switchgear production in 1977, its technical capabilities have been recognized by customers over the past 50 years, thanks to continuous investment in R&D. Additionally, the company has contributed to global power grid stabilization through various efforts, including supplying switchgear to around 40 countries worldwide, supported by its efforts to increase order intake. 🎤 Sign to Memorandum of Understanding Partnership with Taihan Cable & System Hyosung Heavy Industries has signed an MOU agreement with Taihan Cable & System to build a partnership focused on "Tech Cooperation in the Power Sector & Discovering New Business Models." The company plans to team up with Taihan to develop an advanced power equipment management solution. For this co-development, Hyosung's internally developed power equipment asset management system, based on AI and Big Data technology (named ARRMOUR Plus), will be combined with Taihan's real-time power cable diagnosis and monitoring system (PDCMS). 🎤 Receive award for contribution to hydro industry growth by Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy Traditionally, hydroelectric power generators were dependent on overseas suppliers; however, thanks to Hyosung Heavy Industries' efforts, the company achieved domestic production of the equipment in 2016. 🎤 Display a future grid system at ‘BIXPO 2024’ At this event, we unveiled our future power grid system. The 10th edition of BIXPO was held under the theme "Journey to the Future of Energy." As part of this, Hyosung Heavy Industries showcased future-generation power grid systems, including HVDC, STATCOM, ESS, and asset management solution (ARMOUR) to participants.

I am Park Dae-Soo, Team Leader of the Plant & Marine Sales Team at Hyosung Heavy Industries' Industrial Machinery PU. I am responsible for sales of marine products, naval vessels, and propulsion motors and gearboxes for guided missiles. Q. Could you tell us about your major achievements at Hyosung Heavy Industries? In 2010, we secured the defense industry’s propulsion reduction gear, which led to Hyosung Heavy Industries being designated as a key defense contractor. Since then, we have continued to win orders and sell products for naval vessels. In 2020, we also secured the Hybrid Propulsion System, SGM, which was a significant achievement for both the company and me personally. Q. What drives you to continue your career? The support and encouragement from my family and colleagues are the biggest sources of strength for me. The time I spend having conversations with my team members during lunch is also the happiest part of my day. Q. What do you think it means to be good at your job? I believe that being good at your job means communicating with colleagues to address your weaknesses and actively working towards becoming an expert in your field. As South Africa accelerates its transition to renewable energy, Hyosung's BESS technology contributes to enhancing the flexibility of the transmission and distribution grid, supporting South Africa's commitment to sustainable energy solutions. 🎤 Hyosung Hydrogen Completed Hydrogen Charging Station in Gwangyang On October 7, Hyosung Hydrogen held an opening ceremony for South Jeolla Province’s first liquid hydrogen charging station in Gwangyang, South Korea. This facility marks Hyosung Hydrogen's first liquid hydrogen charging station and has the capacity to fuel over 150 hydrogen buses per day. 🎤 Hyosung Provides 4,000 Safety Vests to Partner Companies Hyosung Heavy Industries and other Hyosung affiliates recently provided 4,000 safety vests to over 200 partner companies at construction sites and regional operations. In addition to this support, Hyosung actively promotes safety management for its subcontracting partners through diverse initiatives, including establishing safety and health management guidelines, conducting safety and health evaluations, and implementing a safety and health mentoring program.   🎤 Visit from the Dutch Ambassador to Hyosung Heavy Industries Headquarters The Dutch Ambassador to Korea and the Director of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency visited the headquarters of Hyosung Heavy Industries to discuss cooperation plans with the management.
