📍 Live from the virtual #PanelDiscussion | The #CivilSociety Sector in #Lebanon: Data from Local Organizations 🔹 Ms. Maya Ibrahimchah Beit el Baraka, emphasized the staggering losses, from $1.3B in agriculture to $6B in tourism, urging collaborative efforts to address displacement, enhance aid efficiency, and support sustainable recovery. 🔹 Ms. Lea Zeinoun, Embrace Lebanon, emphasized the urgent need for mental health support during crises, highlighting rising distress, inadequate access to services, and the importance of tailored interventions for vulnerable groups like children and caregivers. 🔹 Ms. Ghida Anani, ABAAD MENA, spotlighted the rise in gender based violence (#GBV) during crises, stressing the need for coordinated efforts: safe spaces, emergency shelters, legislative reforms, and better funding to support over 330K women lacking essential services. 🔹Ms. Georgette Aoude, Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), highlighted the emergency plan launched to support displaced patients, secure 3 months of medications, and drive awareness & contributions through engagement with key partners, influencers, and social media campaigns. 🔹 Ms. Janine Weber-el Meouchy, Teach For Lebanon, stressed the need for disaster preparedness, resilient infrastructure, and trauma-informed teacher training.
