The UN Global Compact Network Lebanon is one of the 69 Local Networks around the world that operate through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Global Compact Headquarters. We are an independent and self-managed entity with the unique mandate to offer local support to UN Global Compact participants based in Lebanon with direct communication and guidance from UN Global Compact HQ and provide them with opportunities for learning, capacity building, awareness raising, policy dialogue, and partnerships on the Ten Principles of responsible conduct and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We help entities build a strong understanding of responsible business and activity within our national context and put their sustainability commitments into action as well as facilitate local connections with other stakeholders from businesses, NGOs, government, and academia.

At the UN Global Compact Middle East Regional Meeting in Riyadh, executive leaders from the region, including our own Executive Director, Deenah Fakhoury, gathered to advance collaborative efforts toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hosted by UN Global Compact Network Saudi Arabia, this meeting provided a strategic platform to align regional priorities with the outcomes of the recent UN General Assembly. Over several days of intensive planning sessions and workshops, colleagues from the Middle East networks worked together to chart new pathways for SDG progress, strengthen regional partnerships, and drive growth in key sectors. The discussions highlighted practical steps to accelerate impact and foster stronger collaboration between public and private sectors, reflecting our collective commitment to the 2030 Agenda. With the momentum generated in Riyadh, we are poised to continue building on this foundation of regional unity and collaborative leadership.
