💡 What’s the secret to #leadership development and embracing growth opportunities? 📚 Since joining the network over 10 years ago, Abir Verlut has contributed to our mission in over three roles – from her start in our historic site in Nantes as part of the IT Solutions team to a Sub-Business Unit Manager role in Microbiology, she graduated to a Business Unit Manager role at Lanagram in the southern part of France. Her secret? ”The Eurofins network offers everyone an opportunity to excell. Simply raise your hand, and the opportunities will arise.”  🎯 Following such an inspiring journey, Abir was met with an exciting new role in one of our laboratories outside of France. She now leads our Food Testing laboratories in #Romania as our National Business Line Leader, with her family by her side: ”This was not only a career discision, but truly a family project. Eurofins Genomics has installed a new #robotics system at their facility in Galten, Denmark, a fantastic addition to their fully automated microarray setup with technology from Thermo Fisher Scientific and Illumina. 🧬 Microarray is a powerful way to look for genetic variations in DNA that can cause health and developmental problems. The latest technology at our site in Denmark can detect the expression of thousands of genes at the same time. Eurofins Genomics now has the world largest genotyping platform for crops, livestock and human applications on microarray, serving as a "helping hand" to our teams so that they can run agri-genomics and human-genomics projects at very high scale. This technology will open new doors for traceability in the food industry, and help to monitor livestock breeding programmes designed to lower the carbon footprint in the meat industry. On the human side, it is now possible for Eurofins Genomics to genotype entire populations. Well done to Eurofins Genomics for breaking barriers when it comes to meeting demand for test capacity, significantly reducing turnaround times from sampling to providing test results, and freeing up employees to focus on developing innovative methods and solving challenges associated with genotyping projects. #Eurofins #TestingForLife #Genomics #Microarray #Genotyping

Celebrating student researchers 🎓🏆 Did you know that Eurofins companies have been working with AOAC INTERNATIONAL since 1936? As one of the testing industry’s oldest scientific associations, AOAC’s mission is to bring together government, industry, and academia to establish standard methods of analysis that ensure the safety and integrity of foods and other products that impact public health around the world. To contribute to this mission, the Eurofins Foundation teamed up with AOAC to launch the Testing for Life Student Award in 2020. The award recognises the advances made by student researchers in the areas of analytical or molecular testing for food, health, or environmental protection. Each year, up to five talented students are awarded a cash prize and AOAC INTERNATIONAL student membership, and are matched up with relevant mentors to support their learning and development.
