💡Mauritius has been ranked as the only African jurisdiction to achieve the coveted status of an “Established Domicile”, highlighted in the “Study on Africa as a Jurisdiction for Domiciliation of Investment Vehicles”, commissioned by the Mastercard Foundation. 🌍Leveraging a well-defined evaluation framework, the report identifies Mauritius as Africa’s top-performing #financialhub across four categories: Regulatory Framework Oversight & Enforcement, Judiciary Framework, Operational Efficiency, and Enabling Environment. Based on the report, the MIFC outperformed all other jurisdictions in each category, “symbolising stability, reliability, a trusted environment for international investors, and a strong role model for other African jurisdictions” ➡️Read more on: Study on Africa as a Jurisdiction for Domiciliation of Investment Vehicles - Mastercard Foundation #mauritiusfinance #financialservices #africa #fund #internationalfinancialcentre

#MauritiusFinance wishes to congratulate Dr. Rama Sithanen on his appointment as Governor of the Bank of Mauritius, effective Friday, 15 November 2024. Dr. Sithanen has been a valuable Board Member of Mauritius Finance since its inception in 2020. His wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and strategic insights have been instrumental in shaping our direction for the development of the #mauritiusifc and fostering strong collaboration between industry stakeholders, regulators, and public authorities. 💡Dr Sithanen’s previous tenure as Finance Minister was transformative, laying the foundations for the positioning of Mauritius as an IFC, notably through enactments like the Mauritius Offshore Business Activities Act (1992) and the Financial Services Act (2007), and the Business Facilitation Acts. His contributions also extend beyond policymaking to developing industry synergies and strategic orientation. As Mauritius begins this new chapter under Dr. Sithanen’s leadership at the Bank of Mauritius, Mauritius Finance reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the country’s position as an #IFC of excellence and looks forward to continued collaboration with the Bank of Mauritius.
