The prison used to rely on firewood and electricity for cooking energy. However, this was not sustainable and EcoGen stepped in to install the biogas system that will be fed from the organic waste generated by the institution. In addition to the clean energy, the prison will benefit from using the biofertilizer, for the prison's farm that supplies the facility with maize and vegetables. During the clean cooking event yesterday, November 29, 2024 at Maula Parish in Lilongwe, we had a visitor at our table who wanted to cook using our biogas system. Since Tuesday, November 26 we have been in Kasungu where we are participating in the Open Day Cooking Demonstrations on Clean Cooking Solutions. Our officers are exhibiting biogas systems that provide clean cooking solutions. We continue to install biogas systems across the country where our clients are enjoying the usage of cooking gas that is clean, affordable, and environmentally friendly.
