S̳t̳u̳d̳e̳n̳t̳ ̳F̳u̳n̳d̳e̳d̳ ̳M̳i̳n̳i̳-̳P̳r̳o̳j̳e̳c̳t̳ The environmental club of Capital City Secondary School, Awka, won the second place during our Climate Bootcamp 2024 Student pitch and was awarded a mini-grant to implement their project in their school. Their project titled: Plastic Pollution Control Plan (PPCP) aimed to reduce plastic pollution, promote sustainable practices and foster environmental awareness among student and staff. Through the project, they constructed a plastic waste collector (receptacle) and installed it at a strategic position in their school where students and teachers can always drop their plastic waste. Anglican High School Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State was one of our stops. We launched the innovative One Student, One Tree Project where we combined conservation education with practical action. Each student planted and tasked to nurture their own tree. This helps to foster direct connection with nature and responsibility for environmental Stewardship. Highlights of School Environmental Club Activity 📚 Following our #ClimateTeachersWorkshop, the 10 participating schools has began their environmental club activities for the year 📌 At the Community Secondary School, Enugu-Agidi, students held their first club meeting in January. They dived into understanding their environment, it's make-up and how their individual activities affect the environment both positively and negatively: a place-based approach to learning. They are also utilizing the #EnvironmentalManual and #ActivityBootlet developed by GRENCHI to guide their learning and hands-on projects. #GRENCHI is getting every learner climate ready 🌳🌳🌳 We are open to partnerships and collaborations to drive youth-led climate action📌 #grenchi #schoolengagement #environmentalstewardship #climateaction #climateeducation
