For the past few months, in partnership with Learn Politics NG, we have been hard at work on an ambitious Infrastructure Policy Project—a tool that makes infrastructure policy research and access simpler and more efficient. Now proudly named SeraNova, embodying its purpose and vision to empower individuals, communities, and stakeholders with the knowledge they need to shape Africa’s infrastructure future. The name combines two powerful ideas: Sera, meaning “policy” in Swahili, and Nova, symbolising “novel” or “innovation.” Together, they represent our commitment to reshaping the way infrastructure-related policies are accessed and understood across Africa. SeraNova is Africa’s pioneer digital repository for infrastructure policies across the continent. It is designed to bridge the infrastructure knowledge gap while also offering a streamlined search tool and unlocking the latest infrastructure policies across 28 African countries. Stay tuned as we launch the future of infrastructure policy research! #SeraNova #ForAfrica #InfrastructureforAll #SDG9inAfrica

📌 17% is the current percentage of women representation among Ministers in Nigeria! In 2023, upon assuming office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed 48 Ministers. Since then, Betta Edu, the then Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, was suspended; while Solomon Lalong, the then Minister of Labour and Employment, resigned to move to the Senate. This brought the number of Ministers down to 46. On October 23, 2024, the President sacked five Ministers—three of whom were women and appointed seven new Ministers, which included three women. This restored the number of Ministers to 48. Thus, with eight out of 48, women make up only 17% of the Ministers, translating to a continuous underrepresentation of women in the federal cabinet. We anticipate when the 35% affirmative action will be achieved in Nigeria, not only for gender balance but in advancing a Nigeria where women are adequately represented in political leadership, policy-making, and decision making. #WRAPs

A little while ago, I completed a short course on politics. We discussed everything from the concept of power & authority, the evolution of the modern state, constitutionalism, and even the recent local government autonomy in Nigeria. As I celebrate another small personal win, I must really commend the Learn Politics NG team for their dedication and efforts to make the course easy to understand by pretty much anyone.

I love the way he interprets the law! That's teaching. I love when people break abstract concepts like this down for the populace. If we'll know the law we'll have to understand it first. 👍🏾 I think this is what they're doing at Learn Politics NG as well but with government policies, governance and anything politics in Nigeria.
