Textile Sustainability Developer at bAwear Score | Streamlined Life Cycle Assessments

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to present a case study on how streamlined Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) can make measuring product level environmental impact faster, easier, and more accessible—for the textile industry as a part of the Net Impact Amsterdam event at Metabolic! The event included: 📊 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐋𝐂𝐀: Breaking down complex methodologies into actionable steps. 🚗 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 - showcasing LCA in action across industries. 📝 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬-𝐎𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩: Calculating environmental impacts of everyday items (who knew a tomato can had so much to teach us?). When it comes to the textile industry, calculating environmental impact across a diverse product portfolio across multiple categories, including men's, women's, baby's, and children's apparel, as well as interior textiles and decorative items can become a daunting task. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: ✅ Streamlined LCAs can help identify hotspots in the supply chain for every unique textile product—simplifying complexity. 📊 Predefined product scenarios with worst case data help to address gaps in data, from raw materials to production and transportation. ⚙️ Streamlined LCAs ensure accessibility for brands of all sizes to measure, scale, and improve their product level environmental impacts. It was a pleasure to exchange insights alongside inspiring speakers Simone Hesseling, NGUYEN HAI HA, and Carolina Paes, and to discuss with the brilliant minds present. Thank you Chloé Dorin and the Net Impact Amsterdam team for organising this event to learn, connect, and inspire on quantification of sustainability! 🙌
