BrewRight wants to break the CO2 supply chain by providing our technology to craft breweries, allowing them to capture in-house CO2 during fermentation and use it for beer bottling. This increases resource efficiency, profits, decreases the carbon footprint and improves the taste of beer. This resource efficiency results in an excess of CO2, which allows the brewer to decide how to use it after bottling (offset or trade).

    Dutch entrepreneurs-agenda of the future Last week I had the honor of talking to the chairman at MKB-Nederland Jacco Vonhof and director Leendert-Jan Visser. Together with other young entrepreneurs (Marije van Beurden & Rick de Keijzer) we discussed the Entrepreneurs-agenda of the future that MKB-Nederland is currently finalizing and is going to present to our government. It gives me a lot of excitement for the future that individuals with different backgrounds, businesses and interests share the commitment on a better, fairer and cleaner Netherlands 🇳🇱. The goals of MKB-Nederland fit greatly with BrewRight’s mission to circularize the food-grade CO2 industry. I look forward to continue collaborating with them to signal to our government what SMEs like us need to change The Netherlands for the better. I therefore advise every young entrepreneur to reach out and contribute to MKB-Nederland’s entrepreneurs-agenda of the future!     What a night it was, last Friday's Final of the dsm-firmenich Kickstart Prize 2024. It had everything from killer pitches, tough jury questions and exciting speakers. Congratulations to ExCulture for winning the Prize! We also extend our congratulations to Carapace and BrewRight as runner up and winning the Encouragement Award. The jury admitted that determining the winners involved rigorous deliberation. The remaining six finalists departed empty-handed, but laden with a wealth of new skills, connections, and experiences. Their relentless dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation has been evident. Undoubtedly, they will play a pivotal role in reshaping the landscape of biotechnology. Let us accompany them on their endeavors and collectively propel the essence of innovation forward!   Also a big thank you to our amazing jury Oscar Goddijn, Kirsten Herben-Steinbusch, Adam Burja and Cindy Gerhardt.

    Today marks our one year anniversary as a startup 🍻🎉 as its Aprils fools🃏 I will try to make a joke out of it. The joke being that a lot more time goes into starting a venture than initially expected. My co-founder Inge Vermeer described it perfectly: “having a startup is like sprinting a marathon 🏃♀️trying to set a world record 🥇without prior training”. I think every founder can relate to this statement 😂 Even though we are officially registered for a year we have actually been working on BrewRight for 2,5 years ⏱️ Rather than focussing on what we have done so far I want to focus instead on what we are doing and the goals of this year 🥅 🔬Research and development is central this year by collaborating with reseach institutes and SMEs. We want to start prototyping next year on our hardware and software element in order to get there we are writing subsidies ✍🏻 to align with the reseach trajectories. Getting into the biotech space to show the scalability and potential of our solution. Our mission has an additional angle: to support the biotech industry in the transition to net zero 2050 📈 - We have joined the global accelerator Nucleate during this program we have 2 new team members who joined us: Amardeep S. and Niels Fjerdingstad and 4 mentors: Manoj Patel, Wanwipa Siriwatwechakul, Jacob Goodwin and Thiemo Woertge - We are participating in the DSM-firmenich kickstarter as one of the 9 finalists thanks Bouke de Jong, Cornelis Mijnders and Planet B.io for inviting us! Validating our business models with more market research 📝 into alcoholic fermentation and precision fermentation.
