There have been updates to the rulebook regarding the process of taking and giving up Engineering Possessions (T3). Under the new T3-A arrangements, the ZKL 3000 RC (remote-controlled T-COD) is now an approved method for protecting possessions. Using the ZKL 3000 RC for protecting possessions allows track workers to focus more on their tasks while enhancing their safety.   This change will: ✅ Speed up the process of taking and giving up possessions ✅ Reduce the risk of incorrectly placing protection ✅ Reduce exposure of possession support staff working on the open railway ✅ Lower the carbon footprint by cutting down travel for possession support staff  This approach supports Network Rail’s safety promise: “Everyone home safe every day.”   Want to learn more or need help deploying your ZKL 3000 RC? Darren Macey, our Deployment Facilitator, was in the field on Saturday night providing operational support for The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) in the #Leeds area. The team successfully installed ZKL 3000 RCs across three sites: Neville Hill, Micklefield Station, and Norden’s Barn Farm, in preparation for the #T3-A scheduled for next month. Overseeing the installation were Network Rail’s Operation Delivery Managers, Wesley Brook and David Mitchell, along with Graham Calvin from S&T. Wes would like to extend his personal thanks to Georgia Frank, who played a key role in facilitating the process by managing the administration and project oversight, ensuring that the installation ran smoothly. Darren said "the recent update to the T3 arrangements in the rulebook now allows Network Rail to use the ZKL 3000 RCs for taking possessions under the T3-A. This is a significant change to the use case of the ZKL 3000 RC, as it previously only provided additional protection for line blocks. Going forward, this approach will speed up taking possessions, reduces the risk of placing traditional methods of protection in the wrong location, and keeps staff off the tracks. Cette semaine, Arthur Follain-Guilbert, du service Support Opérationnel, a accompagné SNCF Réseau l’Infrapôle Paris Sud Est dans le déploiement de 13 ZKL 3000 RC et RDI pour renforcer la protection d'une zone de chantier de 11 km entre Montereau et Moret. Après le déploiement effectué par IPSE la veille, Arthur s'est rendu sur le site de nuit pour former les opérateurs sur les dispositifs, leur donnant la confiance et les connaissances nécessaires pour les utiliser efficacement. Il voulait également s'assurer que tout était en place pour la première opération de nuit, facilitant une exécution sans heurts. Arthur a déclaré : « En partageant ces expériences et en étant sur place, nous avons contribué à apaiser les inquiétudes concernant l'utilisation de ces dispositifs. Ils améliorent non seulement la sécurité des opérateurs, mais permettent également de réaliser des économies de coûts en économisant du temps et des ressources. Ce qu'ils économisent en temps peut être réorienté vers l'amélioration de l'infrastructure ferroviaire pour les trains de voyageurs et de marchandises ». 

We had the pleasure of joining Jamie Mills - EngTech MPWI and his team (Network Rail) last year at Woldingham Station in #Oxted to observe the ROBEL mobile maintenance train (MMT) in operation. It was fascinating to learn how the #Sussex team utilises the MMT in conjunction with the ZKL 3000 RC (remote-controlled T-COD) and a signal protection zone. This provides further additional protection, allowing the team to maintain and upgrade the UK’s rail infrastructure in a safe and controlled environment. Experiencing the MMT first-hand gave us deeper insight into the integration of the ZKL 3000 RC with other protective methods. Our Deployment Facilitator, Darren Macey, was back in the field last week delivering ZKL 3000 RC refresher #training to track workers on the Anglia route, Ipswich Delivery Unit. The users who attended the training left feeling more confident and equipped with the knowledge to effectively use the device.
