We want to share European Young Museologists Link #EMYL's call on signing the #petition against the closure of the Museum of the History of Costume in Buenos Aires by government decree. This decision impacts Argentina's cultural heritage and also represents a significant loss to the international community that acknowledges the importance of clothing as a form of cultural expression and national identity. The Museum of the History of Costume is not merely a space preserving the history of fashion, but also a platform that allows us to explore the interconnection between culture, identity, and the social and political changes of each era. With its vast collection of over 9,000 pieces, this museum serves as an essential testimony to Argentina's historical evolution. EMYL urges museum professionals to join in supporting this invaluable cultural institution and invites you to share the petition that the museum has initiated through your communication channels: https://lnkd.in/dtNYzYS3 Additionally, EMYL asks you to support their statement by filling out the form: https://lnkd.in/gBb-zbKk
