  • We would like to announce that, after 37 years of dedicated service, Kick Van Der Staak has retired from Foot Locker EMEA. Over the course of his remarkable career at Foot Locker, Kick held a variety of key roles showcasing his adaptability and leadership. Most recently, he served as our Vice President of Real Estate & Construction, overseeing key initiatives and helping shape the division's real estate portfolio. Prior to this, Kick led our Omni CX Operations team, driving innovation in our customer experience strategies. Earlier in his career, Kick held roles as VP Operations Support and VP Planning, before becoming General Manager of our now-retired Runners Point and Sidestep banners.  We thank Kick for all his years of service and wish him the very best in his well-earned retirement.

    Today, Foot Locker proudly celebrates our 50-year anniversary!    This incredible journey has been shaped by the passion and dedication of our team members and loyal customers. Together, we have transformed sneaker culture and are looking forward to the next 50 years of growth and innovation!    We kicked off the celebration last week by ringing the opening bell at the NYSE, launching a series of events and exclusive product launches. Be sure to check out our limited-edition collection with Nike, adidas, New Balance, PUMA Group, and Converse, featuring black and white designs with gold accents, available online and in select stores.   • We're excited to announce our move to a new, state-of-the-art, European distribution center in Haps, the Netherlands! July 5th was the official handover of the property, and now we are fully focused on the fit-out and setup of our future processes and systems.    This new distribution center joins our global network of distribution centers that support our Lace Up Plan, specifically across Europe. By implementing a goods-to-person order fulfilment system, we will enable seamless deliveries of the best brands and products to our customers across EMEA.    At the same time, we worked to reduce our environmental footprint by prioritizing renewable energy. This is an all-electric facility that uses solar panels and other sustainable materials.   With plans to be operational in the first half of 2025, this new building will need talented team members who are passionate about being at the Heart of Sneakers.   • Paris is calling and Foot Locker is answering with a bang! As the world turns its eyes to the 2024 Summer Olympics, our team members transformed the city with a series of IRL and digital consumer activations and marketing initiatives to entertain locals and visitors between events.   Throughout the Olympics, attendees have access to our groundbreaking AR initiative, “The HeARt Experience,” giving participants a thrilling AR immersion through their phones “making the invisible visible.” With 12 AR experiences, Foot Locker turns the city streets and store locations into a pulse-pounding urban adventure, where every stop gives a peek into another dimension and unlocks rewards.   Sneaker passionates can also experience 30 retail elevations and store takeovers with a few of our brand partners in Paris, Lyon and Marseille, and over 15 community focused events to help participants level up their game.   So, if you’re there, go and explore the streets and our stores through The HeARt Experience, earn FLX points, and enjoy a digital adventure like no other! https://lnkd.in/gTxvU6aG

  • As you may know by now, on 31 May we introduced a new premium shopping experience at Westfield 4 Temps in La Défense, Paris, marking its debut in Europe. The opening of the Westfield store signifies a pivotal moment for the French retail industry, making it the second market globally to launch this concept, following its initial introduction in New Jersey (USA).   Let us walk you through the highlights! Standing in front of our new store, you're immediately captivated by the store front. The window displays and digital screens draw you in, setting the stage for an immersive shopping experience. As you step inside, you find yourself in a dedicated section where the latest sneaker styles and trend-forward products are highlighted, creating excitement and anticipation. In the heart of the store, you find a zone that encourages customers to connect and experience the inclusivity of sneaker culture through a communal try-on experience. It's a space where you can share your love for sneakers and get instant feedback. Further on in the store, you'll also find a Sneaker Hub. Here, you are treated to personalized services like specialized lacing customization, expanded omni-channel ordering options, and unique FLX experiences.   Laura López Sánchez, our RVP for France, Spain, and Portugal, emphasizes the significance of the communal try-on area: "For me, the most important aspect is the communal try-on zone which prompts interactions with friends, customers, and our Stripers!" She adds, "The store in La Défense will always be remembered as the first in Europe with this new global design, but it's the Stripers that are bringing this new concept to life."   This new retail format, combined with the amazing service and passion of our Stripers, inspires exploration and community, awakening the sneakerhead in everyone.   • BBC Glow Up featured our Stripers! Earlier this year, the Glow Up MUAS worked on a Foot Locker campaign, which was filmed as part of the latest series for BBC. The show challenges aspiring make-up artists to tackle real-world scenarios for a chance at a career-defining opportunity in the beauty industry.   The spotlight was on our amazing Stripers - seven UK-based store associates who truly represent the Heart of Sneakers. They received stunning makeovers from the show's contestants and starred in our photoshoot and campaign. The shoot focused on showcasing the Striper's natural personalities and passion for sneakers, while the make-up artists drew inspiration from sneaker designs to enhance their looks.    This shared enthusiasm and passion, against the backdrop of BBC Three's popular show, resulted in an exceptional Out of Home - Always On campaign. Our VP of Marketing Slavka Jancikova and British influencer and sneaker lover Sherlina Nym provided excellent guidance during the episode.
