🚀 [RE-WITCH Explains] What is the SIL Approach? 🔧 To achieve innovation, testing and optimization are key steps in ensuring RE-WITCH’s technologies are efficient and reliable. That’s where the Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) approach comes in! 📊 What is SIL? The #SIL Approach creates a virtual testing environment where control systems for RE-WITCH’s technologies are simulated. This allows us to fine-tune control logics, test configurations, and optimize processes before deployment, ensuring maximum efficiency. ⚙️ How does SIL power RE-WITCH? 📌 Simulation & Validation: SIL allows us to simulate sequences like start-up, shutdown, and production, ensuring systems respond optimally to real-world conditions. 📌 Optimization: By testing plant configurations virtually, we identify the best strategies to enhance energy efficiency and performance. 📌Energy Savings: Optimized SIL controls can increase overall energy efficiency by 5-10%, supporting RE-WITCH’s mission for sustainable industrial cooling and heating. 💡 With SIL, RE-WITCH brings its technologies closer to real-world application, ensuring every system is optimized for sustainability and performance. 🤝 This method guarantees that our control systems, developed in collaboration with Gruppo Sigla, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Pragma-IoT, Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, Technische Universität Berlin and IDP Ingeniería, Medio ambiente y Arquitectura ready to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. 🎅🎄 As the year ends, we thank you for joining us on this journey through #innovation. Stay tuned in 2025 for more exciting updates on how RE-WITCH is revolutionizing energy systems. Until then, happy holidays and warm wishes from all of us! #SoftwareInTheLoop #EnergyEfficiency #Sustainability #REWITCH

🎄 For the last post of the season, the SEED MICAT team would like to wish all of you a wonderful Christmas season and ending of 2024, and a great start for 2025. 🎄 In order to do so, we have thought of a little poem which explains (in terms of multiple impacts, of course) what would happen if the Grinch had achieved his mission and managed to turn off all the Christmas lights in Europe. Maybe it would not be so bad, after all?? 😊 Have a wonderful Christmas and happy new year. The SEED MICAT team ✨✨✨ In a universe parallel to ours, With the same bees and flowers, The same people in each town, Virtually no difference but one, No matter where in Europe you would visit, Nowhere to see was Christmas spirit. Not a soul sang them jingle bells, The air void of any magical spells, Not a single Christmas light, Striving to illuminate the night. (270 ktoe electricity savings) Now that might sound quite sad, To any simpleton and fool, That still has not seen and read, The results from the MICATool. In those nights of usualness, Void of any festive happiness, More than a dozen Petajoules, (12.5 PJ of coal, gas, and oil avoided) Of "unchristmassy" fossil fuels, Never left for Western Europe, For Russia quite the wallop. Santa was just a man with a beard, Everyone assumed was a bit weird, Working day shifts at Burger King’s, No presents, only burger wrappings. Yet, good news about his mission, His changed job didn’t just coincide, With more than a million, Avoided tons of carbon dioxide. (1.05 MtCO2) There was no Christmas flair, In the winterly atmosphere, But also to be more than fair, Way fewer pollutants in the air, (0.6t SO2, 0.9t NOX, 0.05t PM2.5) Going easy on everyone breaths, Avoiding 17 premature deaths. (As well as 2500 avoided lost working days) With this little Christmas story, Uplifting and without worry, We wish you a very happy festivity, That those 17 aren’t in your family! ✨✨✨ * Assumptions underlying our analysis, specifically related to electricity savings: our estimates indicate that turning off all Christmas lights in the EU could lead to potential savings of 202 kilotons of oil equivalent (ktoe) in the residential sector and 67 ktoe in the tertiary sector. These figures correspond to approximately 3.5 billion kWh of electricity consumption in the U.S., adjusted for population and accounting for a 1.5 multiplier (reflecting the heightened enthusiasm for holiday lighting of the "Christmassiness" in the average US American household). #MICATCommunity #MICATool #ChristmasLights #EnergySaving #EnergyEfficiency

🌟 Athens Unveils New Plan to Help Energy-Poor Households 🌟 Athens is setting a new standard for cities across Europe by eliminating municipal fees for energy-poor households, including vulnerable groups such as those with disabilities and single-parent families. This initiative, introduced by Athens mayor, Mr. Haris Doukas, represents a major step toward equitable energy solutions, aligning with the Climate City Contract (CCC) of Athens, namely a Green Social Contract to create a more humane city, strengthen its social cohesion, improve its neighbourhoods, and reduce spatial inequalities. In this framework, the ASSERT Project, aims to equip local policymakers and intermediaries with the tools they need to effectively address energy poverty, and enable vulnerable families to manage their energy needs more efficiently. 🌍🏙️ Learn more about the project and similar initiatives here: https://lnkd.in/dPFA348C Aisfor srl Rete Assist National Technical University of Athens Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy Foundation (IEECP) Ecoserveis Cultura Energètica Banco dell'energia European Network on Independent Living Cyprus Energy Agency Climate Alliance Eurac Research Enercoop LIFE Programme CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #EuropeanProjects #EnergyVulnerability #LIFECET
