Research group exploring the impact of dietary factors on immunity and cell encapsulation for transplant rejection @UMCG

Over ons

Our research group (PI: Prof. Dr. Paul de Vos) explores immune-endocrine interactions in disorders like inflammatory bowel disease, alongside investigating nutritional influences on gut immunity and strategies for preventing cell transplant rejection. Our main lines of research: - Nutritional immunology: Exploring how specific food components can influence the immune barrier of the gastrointestinal tract - Immunology of cell transplants: Researching what causes the strong rejection of cellular grafts of islets of Langerhans and how this can be prevented with encapsulation Dept.
