🎉 Exciting News for the MoveVRee Project! 🎉 We're thrilled to announce that the project has been granted a €2.1M subsidy to develop a VR driven arm rehab solution, which brings together the incredible talents of Sint Maartenskliniek, 2M Engineering, and inMotion VR. Made possible with the financial support from EFRO European Union and Stimulus Programmamanagement. We had a wonderful opening with the support of Chaggit Jansen and Johan van de Vijver from Stimulus, followed by an overview of the project objectives! Our goal is simple but ambitious: "Bringing arm rehab home." 🏡💪 This project will make arm rehabilitation for people with trauma or aquired brain injury more accessible, affordable, and effective. Allowing them to engage in rehab exercises right from the comfort of their homes using cutting-edge VR and sensor technology following the latest insights gathered from clinical research. We firmly believe this helps in strengthening Corpus VR as a full rehab solution by working on these innovations with the best in the field! A huge thank you to all our partners and supporters. VR in the ICU with burn patients. We worked on this, with a great result as a conclusion. Together with ImproVive we developed an VR ICU training tool for burn victims at UZ Leuven. Under the guidance of physical therapist and researcher Eline Haghedooren we developed an easy to use intervention, based on the streaming technology of Corpus VR. Toghether with the creative team at Improvive, Roger Ter Heide and Nikita Kayal, we explored the posibilities of developing such a specific "tool". We are proud 🙏 to share that Eline Haghedooren (et al) published the research article in the Australian Critical Care journal on MotiVeerUZelf. 📄The article named "Feasibility and safety of interactive virtual reality upper limb rehabilitation in patients with prolonged critical illness" concludes how Virtual Reality can help patients with rehabilitation training in the ICU. 👄 "Interactive upper limb Virtual Reality Rehabiliation (VRR) is a feasible, safe, and appreciated tool to use in rehabilitation of critically ill patients during their prolonged ICU stay. Subsequent future studies should focus on the effects of VRR on neuromuscular and cognitive function and the socioeconomic impact of exergaming for rehabilitation purposes of ICU patients." It is incredible that we've been able to contribute to this groundbreaking research through the development of MotiVeeRUZelf. Like previous years we will be present at the World Congress on Virtual Rehabilitation from June 26-28 in Amsterdam. 💪 We are showing our latest advances in XR rehabilitation with Corpus VR and the amazing #RevSim project that we are co developing with Fontys Hogeschool Geert-Jos van der Maazen And for the people who are interested we can give you a sneak peek at a lower limb exercise proof of concept. That was developed in the past months in a collaboration with HAN University of Applied Sciences and Sint Maartenskliniek. Thanks to UX designer Bart Mulderij who graduated 🎓 on this project and physio student Elle Van Dijk who worked together with lead VR therapist Guy Gilbers on researching body illusions in VR.
