A warm welcome to our new head of finance, Christian Dubrau! We are so happy to welcome Christian to the Ocean Oasis team as our Head of Finance. Christian has a diverse background in audit, NGOs, start-ups and financial institutions, bringing extensive experience in financial management. He is passionate about sustainability and is eager to help address water scarcity: - I'm looking forward to contributing and driving forward Ocean Oasis' financial strategies to support the company's goals. Christian is a crucial addition to the Ocean Oasis team as we continue to grow and manage complex projects, backed by our amazing investors and funders like CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) and The Research Council of Norway. Our team is diverse, comprised of individuals from different nationalities and a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. #DesaLIFE demostrará el uso de la tecnología undimotriz para producción de agua desalada de forma sostenible. Ocean Oasis Canarias se enorgullece de liderar el proyecto que permitirá incrementar la capacidad de producción en un proceso tradicionalmente electro-intensivo, sin incrementar la demanda de energía eléctrica y sin emisiones de CO2, utilizando una fuente de energía renovable e inagotable como las olas. 🌊💦 Sebastián Feimblatt, cofundador de Ocean Oasis y director ejecutivo de la delegación canaria, afirma que “Canarias nos brinda una oportunidad única para demostrar el uso de las energías marinas para una desalación sostenible”, y destaca que “es un privilegio contar con la experiencia en desalación de empresas y centros de investigación y con el apoyo institucional de las diferentes administraciones, y en concreto la estrecha colaboración con el Consejo Insular de Aguas de Gran Canaria”. DesaLIFE: proyecto para la desalación con energía de las olas en Canarias Ocean Oasis Canarias coordinará el consorcio que apuesta por una innovadora tecnología de desalación que utiliza energía de las olas (undimotriz) en el norte de Gran Canaria. 🌊 👉 El objetivo del proyecto: validar la desalinización undimotriz como una solución sostenible y asequible para garantizar el futuro del agua de la isla, facilitando la transición a una economía sostenible y resiliente al cambio climático en el archipiélago. At Ocean Oasis, we believe in a future where clean water is abundant, not scarce. We are honoured to announce that the Ocean Oasis led consortium has received a €6 million grant from the EU. The consortium’s DESALIFE (Desalination for Environmental Sustainability And LIFE) project will test and validate Ocean Oasis’ wave-powered solution providing desalinated water from floating buoys off the coast of Gran Canaria. The islands in the archipelago face serious water shortage problems, putting pressure on already depleted water resources. The project will build and deploy the first fleet of Ocean Oasis’ offshore desalination buoys to provide water for 15,000 people on the island, with Gran Canaria Island Water Council CABILDO DE GRAN CANARIA. Yesterday, our CEO Kristine Bangstad Fredriksen met with the President of the European Innovation Council board Michiel Scheffer during his visit to Oslo. Innovation Norway hosted a lunch where we shared our mission at Ocean Oasis and our experiences as an EIC beneficiary.
