Caring for Soil: Measure, Monitor, Manage! This #WorldSoilDay, we celebrate the foundation of life—our #Soil. At Heifer International, we recognize that healthy soil is key to nourishing the planet, combating #ClimateChange, and securing livelihoods for smallholder farmers. Through our regenerative agriculture interventions, we support farmers with: 🌾 Soil Health Training: Promoting cover cropping, composting, and mulching to restore fertility. 🌿 Eco-Friendly Practices: Using herbal pesticides and reducing reliance on synthetic inputs to safeguard biodiversity. 🤝 Community-Led Initiatives: Strengthening local farmer groups to implement sustainable solutions that boost yields and incomes. Our work extends across diverse landscapes in Asia—from helping farmers in India adopt goat and chicken farming and horticulture practices to enabling women in Bangladesh to lead the way in vermicomposting to boosting renewable energy in Cambodia. Healthy soil isn’t just about agriculture—it’s about life itself. Let’s continue nurturing it for a better, brighter future. 📢 Join us in celebrating soil as the cornerstone of sustainable development.
