Another week of delightful surprises for the BEIA Team! We've received some truly thoughtful gifts from Recreational Studio - a big thank you to Anabel, Kate, and Simon for their unwavering support over the years, helping us amplify our voice within the industry. Your consistent contributions mean a great deal to us! We're excited to capture our Christmas lunch memories using the film camera. 📸 As many of you know, Ringa Hora is currently working on the Te Haeata project, a vocational education programme for new entrants into the business events industry in collaboration with ServiceIQ and Grow Tourism. BEIA is actively involved in this initiative, forming an industry steering group and a content development group alongside these education providers. Martin Szeko, Industry Engagement Lead of Ringa Hora, has been working with us at our office a few days a week on this programme. The wonderful Martin surprised us with delicious Linecké cookies for our morning tea. Our sincere gratitude goes to Martin and the entire Ringa Hora team for their dedication and efforts in creating this valuable industry programme. We were thrilled to present the 2024 Outstanding Contributor's Award to Leonie Ashford from Tourism New Zealand for her remarkable contributions to New Zealand's Business Events Industry. Additionally, Leonie has recently been elected to the ICCA Board of Directors’ Asia Pacific seat. Congratulations, Leonie! #FeatureFriday: Exciting update from Auckland Conventions, Venues & Events Paige Hallam has joined the Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events team as the new Marketing Manager. With a background in events, Paige previously worked at Infrastructure New Zealand and most recently spent a year in London working with one of the UK’s largest trade shows in the HVAC industry.
