Irina attended the Instruments for social finance in Bulgaria event organized by SIFTA | Social Inclusive Finance Technical Assistance to discuss about social finance and how to boost the development of social economy in Bulgaria and CEE. She says that "Diverse teams perform better. Different backgrounds, perspectives, different skills, and approaches reduce blind spots, reduce biases. Which leads to better decisions, to more impact, and eventually to higher returns." #startups #founders #venturecapital #impactinvest #cee
Diverse teams perform better. Different backgrounds, perspectives, different skills, and approaches reduce blind spots, reduce biases. Which leads to better decisions, to more impact, and eventually to higher returns. However, it is difficult to find diverse teams to invest in. Fortech Investments we saw hundreds of start-ups only in the past year. And the number of start-ups co-founded by diverse teams is below 10%. This is confirmed by the report issued by European Women in VC – which shows that the number of co-led gender diverse start-ups is around 15%. How could this increase? More social impact funds/projects – that would give women the perspective that if they have the courage to start a business or join the start of a business, they could have access to capital and other resources to scale that business. This is certainly a way to encourage diverse teams that come better equipped to solve complex problems. Thank you Martina Grigorova, Yordan Petrov, and the team for this impact initiative and for bringing together Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia, and Romania around such an important topic. To more impact together!
