57% of esports betting turnover in 2024 comes from Counter-Strike 2. This has changed a little year over year, and there are several potential reasons for the dominance of CS2 in betting: - Counter-Strike 2 has a packed yearly tournament schedule, with several ongoing tournaments at any given time. The history of Counter-Strike 2 has elements intertwined with skin betting. This means that many players of Counter-Strike 2 might be more familiar with betting than fans of other titles. - Counter-Strike 2 game publisher Valve Corporation has allowed betting sponsorships for tournaments and teams to a large extent. This means that betting logos have been seen on team jerseys, socials, and broadcasts, likely influencing fans to some degree. - Compared to other titles, Counter-Strike 2 is relatively straightforward. With 5v5 teams looking to attack and defuse bomb sites, the game is easy to get into as a spectator sport, allowing more crossover from other disciplines.
