<<START UP SUCCESSES!>>Sweden's prominent tech start-up list was just presented, the 33-list. We were happy to see four Ideon Science Park - Start Up Tech Hub start-ups on the list. Helios Innovations 💧could celebrate being on the list for the second time. Fabulous. 🌊 Helios Innovations, led and founded by Jonatan Persson and Johanna Gillberg, addresses industrial liquid waste through evaporation. Wastewater is spread over large areas of cellulose blocks and heated using residual heat. The evaporated water can then be safely released, while the concentrated waste is incinerated. Nordic Forestry Automation, LifeFinder and EpinovaTech AB found their way into the list for the first time. Congratulations! 🌲Lars Svensson and David Gillsjö, founders of Nordic Forestry Automation, (NFA) are developing next-generation operator assistance for forestry machines with a technology inspired by the automotive industry. NFA's system uses sensor data to build a real-time model of the forest surrounding the harvester. Based on this model, operators receive assistance making decisions, such as selecting trees for thinning. 🚢 Anders Schening, is the CEO of LifeFinder Systems International. The founding team has invented an IoT system with sensors, that can be attached to clothing or equipment or worn as a wristband. Life Finder Systems International aims to save lives in hazardous workplaces, thereby reducing material losses and environmental impact. The solution detects abnormal situations for crew members on cargo ships, for example, and can send alerts not only when something happens but also to pinpoint the person’s location. 📲 EpinovaTech AB makes four-inch prototype wafers using industrial equipment. Gallium nitride, a semiconductor material, can produce highly energy-efficient circuits, a critical need for electric vehicle manufacturers. However, when gallium nitride is applied to silicon wafers, numerous defects often occur. Epinovatech addresses this issue with a patented method where nanoscale pillars are placed between the silicon and gallium nitride layers. The founder is Martin Olsson. https://lnkd.in/dw2hvGBP

<<START UP SUCCESS>> Yesterday Rapidus presented the 34-list, with 34 promising start-ups with founders under 34 years old. Five were awarded and we were proud to see Inceptron take the stage. Inceptron was founded by Lucas Ferreira (31) and Steffen Malkovsky. They developed a solution for the automatic configuration of AI networks to make operations more energy- and cost-efficient. The company, headquartered in Lund, is now a team of 20. Lucas Ferreira, originally from Brazil, was named Newcomer of the Year in the South Region in 2024. Four other Ideon companies were on the list: The Lund-based company Ideon Alumni Pembio, founded by Abtin Janinejad (30) and Johan Flodgren, sees “gamification” as the key to success. Their app is built around the idea of “gamifying” goal-setting and planning in the workday to boost engagement and productivity. Launched in 2023, it now has over 10,000 users.   TrackPaw Scientific AB, an Ideon-based company founded by Liza Albrektson (27) and Erik Månsson (29), is developing an AI-based IoT solution aimed at improving preclinical studies by monitoring the welfare of laboratory animals.   Malin Eriksson (28), Martin Arvidsson (29), and Hampus Hammarbäck (29) are the founders of Solstice. The company was founded last year and is developing an innovative energy storage solution that could reduce storage costs by almost 90%. Currently, the prototype is being developed, and a pilot project with Växjö Energi is planned to begin next year. Garn Invest was founded by Eric Thysell (31) and Oskar Britting (32), both with backgrounds at e-commerce leader CDON. Their focus is on investing in e-commerce-related sectors, spanning real estate, logistics, technology, and retail. Zerotude, co-founded by Maximilian Deiters, 32, and Ricardo Bernardo offers a digital 3D model of an entire property portfolio that, using AI and user data, calculates performance metrics. This analysis provides property owners with cost-effective renovation proposals. Zerotude can use its AI model to forecast the status of a building, allowing it to identify properties with high potential.

When thinning a forest, these operators must decide which trees to fell. 🌲NFA wants to make an operator’s work easier and has found a way.
