As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on an extraordinary year of innovation, collaboration, and breakthroughs at Molecular Instruments. It's hard to believe we kicked off the year with an official launch of our 1-plex HCR™ Pro RNA-ISH assays on the DISCOVERY ULTRA and ONCORE Pro X platforms and ended with RTU dispensers, the very first LDTs powered by HCR™ Platform (more on that coming soon!), and strongly showing up with our valued partners with high-impact posters at SITC, AACR, and SfN...it's been a year of incredible progress! At Molecular Instruments, we'll relentlessly forge ahead on our values and put our best foot forward to provide game-changing reagents to biologists, bioengineers, and drug and diagnostics developers worldwide. In 2024, we spotlighted 50 groundbreaking articles featuring research-powered #onlywithHCR —an incredible testament to the strength of our platform in advancing cutting-edge research. Our strategic partnerships and press releases with trailblazing companies like Biocare Medical, Indica Labs, Bruker Spatial Biology, Navinci, Visiopharm, and BioChain Institute, Inc. have been met positively by our users and will be crucial in driving scientific discovery forward. These collaborations strengthen our collective ability to make a lasting impact on the research and diagnostics fields. This year, we are especially grateful for our brilliant, passionate team—this is what makes it all possible. To the entire MI family, thank you for your unwavering dedication and vision. At Navinci, we join the scientific community in celebrating Spatial Proteomics as Nature's Method of the Year 2024! This recognition shines a spotlight on the incredible technology developed to map and understand more about our biology. We are proud to stand alongside leaders at the forefront of this field, with our in situ proximity ligation technology allowing researchers to gain further understanding about not just where the proteins are, but how they are functioning. New in the Navinci Assay Database: mapping the tumor microevironment 🔬 Our assay database now features a guide to mapping the TME using combined in situ proximity ligation and immunofluorescence assays. Detect protein-protein interactions with our isPLA assays while simultaneously identifying critical markers such as Ki67, CD3, CD8a, CD20, and pan-cytokeratin. I will present on exciting new developments from Navinci for spatial interactomics, demonstrating #isPLA integration with with #multiplexIF and other multi-omic modalities as well as capabilities for multiplexing protein-protein interactions! #spatialbiology #biomarkers #multiomics

New publication in neuroscience 🧠 In Dr Tim Greenamyre’s lab at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, they study Parkinson’s disease and use Navinci’s isPLA assay regularly to decipher novel mechanisms that contribute to the disease in vitro, in vivo, and in patient samples. They have recently published this work in Science Translational Medicine, titled ‘LRRK2 regulates production of reactive oxygen species in cell and animal models of Parkinson’s disease’ Matt Keeney, Post-doctoral Fellow in the Greenamyre Lab, said “This technology was pivotal in helping us decipher the mechanism of how LRRK2 kinase activity regulates excessive reactive oxygen species production at the cellular and neuronal level.” Read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/dZnaR8Hn Science Magazine University of Pittsburgh

We are excited to share the results of a study in collaboration with The University of Queensland and Akoya Biosciences, Inc. titled ‘Spatial interaction mapping of PD-1/PD-L1 in Head and Neck Cancer reveals the role of Macrophage-Tumour Barriers associated with immunotherapy response’ Mucosal head and neck squamous cell carcinoma has a poor prognosis, often diagnosed at late stages with limited treatment options. While immune checkpoint inhibitors show promise, the effectiveness of PD1/PD-L1 blockade varies among patients. This study uses in situ proximity ligation assays and spatial proteomics to examine the tumor microenvironment in pre-treatment patient samples, revealing that these combined technologies could improve outcome prediction and patient stratification for immunotherapy.
