This innovative approach accelerates the development of effective and safe therapeutics.   Xbrane Biopharma AB Biopharma is focused on developing and manufacturing biosimilars with a proprietary platform technology, which enables a cost-efficient production of biologics. The pipeline consists of projects within ophthalmology and oncology with Ximluci® now being approved in the EU.   Vicore Pharma AB is developing treatments for rare lung diseases and fibrotic conditions, targeting the angiotensin II type 2 receptor (AT2R) to combat inflammation and fibrosis. Vicore’s lead candidate, C21, now in Ph II, aims to address severe unmet medical needs in pulmonary and systemic fibrosis. The winner will be announced at SwedenBIO Summit on the 11th December. The SwedenBIO Award is presented in cooperation with HealthCap. The human and economic cost of antimicrobial resistance - 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄 If we don't tackle rampant antibiotic resistance, the ability of the healthcare system to provide essential care to patients will be undermined and we face a global health crisis. Watch the short video to enhance your understanding of this important issue which affects all of us and in which we all can play a positive role. 18-24 November each year, the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) aims to increase awareness of global antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers, farmers, animal health professionals and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections. SwedenBIO is actively working through our working group for Pandemic Preparedness and the Swedish Industry Alliance against AMR to increase Swedish capabilities in handling antimicrobial resistance. Through these constellations we develop policies and frameworks that highlight the solutions the industry can contribute with in order to tackle the AMR challenge. Making Sweden a leading life science nation 🇸🇪 🚀   That was the topic of last weeks conference organized by AstraZeneca and GoCo Health Innovation City. The key note speaker Jeanette Edblad presented the updated life science strategy that the government recently launched. She stressed the importance of the industry for the Swedish economy and the engagement from the ministers involved in the long term competitiveness of #Swedish #lifescience.   Our CEO Jessica Martinsson participated in a panel discussion around innovation culture and its key elements. She highlighted the value of Swedish production and how this is a vital part of the innovation that Sweden delivers.   Thanks to EY and Thomas Straumitz and Linda Andersson for making the bold statement: "What does great look like? – Like Sweden".
