2024 has honestly flown by in a blink of an eye, and although we have been keeping busy, we have also found time to balance work and play! Here are some of this year’s highlights:     ⛑️ Raised our safety bar by conducting office safety audits for the first time  ⚓ Welcomed three new vessels to our owned fleet   ♻️ Implemented energy efficiency technologies in owned and chartered-in fleet  📖 First year sponsors of residential scholarships to underprivileged youths in the Philippines   📱 Installed Starlink data on our vessels so crew can stay connected with family while at sea  🤝🏻 First partnership with ARCHIREEF to support a Nature-based Coral Reef Restoration Research Project in Singapore   💪🏻 Addition of one new Executive Leadership Team (ELT) member, Gavin March 🫂 Giving back to local communities and clocking in over 100 volunteer hours globally   🙌 Looking forward to our second Global Conference coming up in Jan 2025!     What a year it has been! Volunteering can be a great teambuilding activity while giving back to our local communities. This year, our colleagues rolled up their sleeves to volunteer for great causes. Colleagues from our Singapore and Sydney offices volunteered at their respective local soup kitchens; Willing Hearts and Our Big Kitchen. Singapore and Miami colleagues also participated in beach clean-ups while globally, our other teams volunteer with charities such as the Mission to Seafarers to pack gift packs for seafarers during festive seasons.      Giving back to our local communities can be incredibly impactful, and we are fortunate to be able to do so. We are proud of our colleagues for taking initiatives to make small differences, making #LifeAtSwireBulk that much more meaningful.       #InternationalVolunteerDay

Hooray for Swire Bulk's Wellness Day! As part of the company's efforts to raise mental health awareness, colleagues are given a day off to enjoy a mindful break.     Staying healthy mentally and physically positively impacts our personal lives and professional careers. We are proud to offer flexible work arrangements for onshore employees and Starlink high-speed data to our seafarers to help colleagues achieve sustainable work-life balance. Marching to the theme of #WorldMaritimeDay 2024 “Navigating the Future, Safety First”, Swire Bulk is fully committed to ensuring that our business and people uphold the highest safety standards, to achieve Zero Harm.     At sea and onshore, we introduce and maintain high standards of safety protocols and practices to ensure that safety is always at the front and center of our operations. From annual safety drills and exercises to an in-house safety app, townhalls, digital safety, and appointing qualified first aiders and fire wardens amongst other initiatives, one thing is for sure – we will never compromise on safety onboard our vessels and within our offices.     Safety First, and Always! 

We are proud to share that our third annual Sustainability Report covering the period from 1 Jan to 31 Dec 2023 is ready for viewing. Written with reference to the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards, our report provides a summary of our achievements and improvements made across Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) areas in 2023. We will continue to work hard to progress in these areas, to continue delivering market-leading, innovative, and sustainable freight solutions for our global customers.
