  • With #2025 just around the corner, we continued to make big strides in empowering communities and individuals in pursuing #sustainability and #wellbeing goals while building bridges for meaningful collaborations within the #maritime trade. In October, we revived Japan Day at the iconic Fujiya Hotel and Daihakone Country Club in Hakone, Japan after a brief hiatus. This year, the event was hosted by Chairman Chavalit Frederick Tsao and IMC senior leaders to bring together our Japan-based maritime industry stakeholders such as shipowners, trading houses, and shipping finance leaders to strengthen relationships, exchange insights, and explore collaboration opportunities. Highlights included discussions on industry trends and a traditional Japanese banquet, where Chairman emphasized purpose-led stewardship and innovation for sustainable maritime practices. The positive feedback from partners reaffirmed the event's significance in fostering connections and advancing sustainable growth in the maritime sector. In November, we were part of the inaugural The Earthshot Prize Asia Youth Leaders Programme with Temasek Foundation. Spearheading this programme is just one of the many ways we commit to empowering solutions that can regenerate the Earth and inspire lasting environmental stewardship. We’re excited to continuously championing our youth in restoring and regenerating our planet in the years to come. Finally, as the final milestone of the year, we inked an MOU with Kura Kura Bali, a Special Economic Zone for quality tourism and creative Industries designated by the Government of Indonesia. Under this partnership, we will explore impact-focused investment opportunities in Mindfulness and Wellness that integrate seamlessly with their master plan and sustainability vision. To our dedicated teams, partners and stakeholders - thank you for your trust and belief in our vision. The new year will present even more opportunities for us to collaborate and deepen our impact together. May 2025 bring happiness, renewed energy and fulfilment to all!

  • As we closed in on the year in Q3, we took bigger steps in initiating significant partnerships which are testament to our dedication in bringing together #purpose, #sustainability and positive transformation for a better world. We dove into the quarter with an MOU to establish the Well-being and EESG Academy (WEGA) with the Centre of Governance and Sustainability (CGS) at the National University of Singapore Business School. This collaboration aims to bring together and promote public, private and #philanthropy, with TPC implementing our sustainability approach within our own organisations while also contributing resources on well-being programmes, leadership development, family dynamics and human relationships through OCTAVE Institute Limited. Thank you Dean Andrew Rose, Professor Lawrence Loh and the team from NUS CGS for their continued dedication, as well as TPC Chief Stewardship & Well-being Governance Officer, Yuelin Yang, for facilitating this valuable collaboration. Next, we partnered with OceanX, the groundbreaking ocean exploration nonprofit under Dalio Philanthropies, to drive innovation in #ocean research, #conservation, and #leadership development. This marked the beginning of the journey of both organisations in finding solutions to restoring the ocean, and we hope initiatives like these will catalyse more such efforts in the future. Finally, OCTAVE Institute Limited inked a momentous partnership with UNGC’s #PRME initiative at UN’s Summit of the Future during Climate Week 2024. At the core of this partnership is the creation of a university focusing on sustainability. This institution will serve as a new model of higher education systems globally, embracing a holistic approach that prioritises innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility. Together, we hope to set a new global standard for leadership in the 21st century. Stay tuned for our last quarterly recap before we wrap up 2024!

  • Q2 was an exceptionally pivotal and meaningful period for us, marked by a historic rebrand from IMC Pan Asia Alliance Group to Tsao Pao Chee. This rebrand pays homage to our roots, reviving the company’s original tradename, Tsao Pao Chee, which dates back 120 years to the Qing Dynasty. Under the visionary leadership of fourth-generation steward and Chairman, Chavalit Frederick Tsao, this milestone firmly steers the company into an exciting new era—one laser-focused on impactful investments and championing a #WellBeingEconomy.   The new brand was unveiled at the AT ONE International Festival in April, which took place at our SANGHA Retreat by OCTAVE Institute in Suzhou, China. 2024 saw the festival’s fourth edition in which 16,000 participants - including non-profit organisations and some of our key partners across the globe - gathered to awaken their senses and augment the transformative experience of art and #mindfulness.   In May, we held our inaugural Japan Well-being Day, which gathered industry experts from the country's hospitality real estate sector to share our flagship well-being retreat concepts and signature programmes to explore opportunities for collaboration.   June saw us participating at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions (Summer Davos) in Dalian, a major shipping hub in northeast China. Amidst robust discussions and impactful exchanges, Chairman also contributed his insights on climate change, business reform, and navigating new opportunities amidst global geopolitical tensions.   Stay tuned for more quarterly recaps and milestones we checked off in 2024!

  • As 2024 draws to a close, we want to take some time to reflect the incredible year we have had at TPC. Alongside our momentous rebranding in April, this has been a year of #partnerships, #collaboration and purposeful strides towards a #wellbeing ecosystem. The year started off strong with our participation at the World Economic Forum at Davos. At the gathering of global leaders across public and private sectors, our Chairman Chavalit Frederick Tsao had many fruitful conversations with like-minded, passionate, and vocal stakeholders, exchanging views on how to navigate the green transition. In February, Chairman founded the Association for Wellbeing Economy (AWE) to foster a sustainable wellbeing economy and empower businesses, especially SMEs, to make a positive social and environmental impact. AWE's first Wellbeing Economy Symposium brought together over 100 business leaders and visionaries from Hong Kong to explore opportunities and challenges for SMEs in this new era. In March, we proudly supported and participated in the first edition of One Earth Summit, which facilitated action-focused climate dialogues and channel collective action for the region. There, Chairman delivered the opening message to address climate change and also took the stage with Poman Lo, organiser and founder of Institute of Sustainability and Technology (IST), to share insights and inspiration from our green transition journey and philosophy.   Stay tuned for more quarterly recaps and milestones we checked off in 2024! #WellBeingEconomy

  • Last week, our Chairman, Chavalit Frederick Tsao, shared inspiring insights during a guest lecture and fireside chat with Mr Tasos Zavitsanakis at the HKU Business School. The discussion focused on reshaping responsible #leadership education to tackle the pressing challenges of climate change and digital transformation. In his remarks, he emphasised that leadership is not about authority but a journey of self-cultivation—refining inner power, elevating #consciousness, and embracing our authentic selves. He reminded us that creativity, love, and leadership come from within and #flourish when we overcome fear. At a time when AI is transforming industries and humanity is repositioning itself physically, mentally, and spiritually, he highlighted the importance of building a market economy driven by wellness, #wellbeing, #sustainability, and a sense of #purpose. Encouraging young leaders to embrace the role of a CEO of Love, he underscored how joy, purpose, and authenticity define true leadership in today’s world. A powerful message for all of us striving to lead with #impact and create a sustainable future. #Leadership #Followership #Creativity #InnerNature #Consciousness #CEOofLove #Sustainability

Family Business Steward & Chairman at TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) Group, previously known as IMC Pan Asia Alliance Group

Last week I was honored to be invited to deliver a guest lecture and participate in a fireside chat with Mr.Tasos Zavitsanakis at the Hong Kong University Business School. We exchanged ideas and insights on the vital topic of transforming responsible leadership education to address the challenges of the climate crisis and digital transformation. We live in an era of constant change and uncertainty, which has given rise to many fears. Speaking particularly to the young people in the audience, I emphasized that it is because of this inner fear that we perceive the future as filled with difficulties and challenges. In reality, however, leadership comes from within— just like love and creativity, which are fundamental to our nature. If your mind is free from that difficulty, your creativity will flourish, and the inner power will rise within you. A true leader in this era should be defined by followership, built on role modeling and relationships. To me, leadership is a journey of self-cultivation— a practice of refining our inner power, elevating our consciousness, and deepening our awareness of the external context in which we express our authentic selves. With AI's rapid growth, humanity is undergoing a profound repositioning and restoration— physically, mentally, and spiritually. Wellness and well-being are emerging as top trends, with sustainability as the key driver. Coming from business school, we must take full responsibility for creating the future market economy. Embrace the role as a CEO of Love, reap the dividend of joy, and discover our true leadership within. #Leadership #Followership #creativity #innernature #consciousness #CEOofLove #sustainability

  • In today’s rapidly evolving world, family businesses have a unique opportunity to lead meaningful change, especially in sustainability. At TPC, we are committed to turning words into action and are a firm supporter of OceanX’s science, media, and education work. Most recently, we funded their Indonesia mission, which was conducted from May to August 2024.    OceanX and TPC will continue working on designing the next phase of our partnership, which is likely to include impactful ocean science research and educational programs on a mission in 2025. We hope initiatives like these will serve as a catalyst for more marine restoration efforts in the future. Thank you Vivien Ang The Business Times for showcasing this partnership and the possibilities this collaboration will unlock! https://lnkd.in/gey5ZJph #Sustainability #FamilyBusiness #MarineConservation #ESG
