A fantastic morning spent with a group of enthusiastic students from Fuhua Secondary School at our Neo Tiew show farm! 🙌 They learned about the impact of agriculture on our environment, the importance of reducing food waste and how aquaponics can be a powerful sustainable solution 🌍 ! Of course, no farm visit is complete without some hands-on fun! The students had a great time harvesting crops and feeding our catfish, Australian Jade Perch, and Tilapia. 🐠 🐟 We hope this experience inspires them to be advocates for a more sustainable future! The event runs from 9-11 Oct 24 in Chiba, Tokyo. We're thrilled to support our partner, AQUPONI Inc. Japan's leading aquaponics company. As the demand for sustainable food systems grows, aquaponics is gaining traction among a new generation of Japanese farmers. The emphasis by Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on decarbonization and reduction of chemical usage incentivizes more sustainable & climate resilient farming methods. Japanese consumers are also keenly aware of climate change given the massive impact of severe weather events. Happy Friyay! Have a look at our first fruits🍅! Sharing some photos taken this week at a school urban farm we’ve built in July & started operating in Aug 24. The tomato plants are almost ready to show off their first fruits. The school teachers transplanted the seedlings in the beginning of Aug. The first tomato fruits appeared in early September and they spent the last month changing colors from green to red.
