Celebrating Men on International Men’s Day Today, we honour men in all their forms—their strength, their vulnerability, and their authenticity. Masculinity is not a one-size-fits-all concept. It’s about embracing who you are, free from the constraints of societal expectations that often box men into toxic or harmful roles. In a world where men are frequently told to "man up" and suppress their feelings, let us instead uplift conversations about emotional well-being and authenticity. Acknowledging hurt, sharing emotions, and seeking support are not signs of weakness—they are the marks of courage and strength. To all the men striving to be their best selves, showing up for their families, communities, and for themselves—we see you, we honour you, and we stand with you. Let’s celebrate men not just for what they do, but for who they are. This International Men’s Day, let’s redefine masculinity together—making space for healing, connection, and authenticity. 💙 Tag a man who inspires you or has shown true strength by being his authentic self. #InternationalMensDay #Masculinity #Authenticity #InclusiveHope #EmotionalWellBeing #MenMatter

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. In the Caribbean, mental health is often brushed aside, but we know every life matters. Through First Aid for Mental Health (FA4MH), we can all play a role in supporting those around us. The C.A.L.M. approach helps us take action: Connect: Reach out and let them know you care. Ask: "Are you having thoughts of suicide?" Listen: Without judgment, just be there to listen. Motivate: Encourage them to seek professional help or lean on trusted support systems. With FA4MH, we can become better equipped to support our communities, save lives, and break the silence around mental health. Let’s build a stronger Caribbean together. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #FA4MH #CALMApproach #CaribbeanMentalHealth #SupportAndListen #BreakTheStigma

Inclusive Hope was thrilled to be part of this amazing event. Joining with the Engineering Department University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, along with other professionals in launching an initiative that holds the promise of transforming our world. This launch was a commitment to a vision where engineering serves the needs of all people, especially those who have been marginalized. By focusing on local resources and sustainable practicesto develop solutions that empower communities and provide them with the tools they need to thrive. Special thanks to Kirk Langton, Kim Mallalieu and Arvind Singh. So thrilled to see iniatives like these amplified.
Lots of full circle moments this year! I was honoured to be a part of the inaugural DEI session at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus for my alma matter department, the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department during their orientation for new students yesterday! There is a particular energy which flows through the room as these new students get ready to embark on a journey which will change the course of their lives and I’m so happy that I got to be a part of it! Yesterday, I joined Dr Kim Mallalieu who has been spearheading these efforts to bring more awareness to ways we can be more inclusive of others especially through design. (She's amazing!!!) We also had the assistance of Mrs Jennifer Daulat-Araujo & Ms Petra Bridgemohan who brought their expertise in designing for the visually impaired to this session. A huge thank you to the entire team who made the day a success and best of luck to the incoming class of students. I am so incredibly proud of the solutions that the students came up with during our session. 💫 The future is in great hands. 💫 Strategic Reliability Solutions Ltd #strategicreliabilitysolutions #reliability #WomenInSTEM #engineering #WomenInEngineering #diversity #PelicanPride

This Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, let's recognize that men, often seen as the pillars of our families and communities, face immense pressures and expectations. Society teaches men to be invincible, yet every man carries his own battles unseen. Men are often expected to shoulder burdens silently, but mental health struggles are universal. Let's break the silence and support each other in building a healthier, more resilient society. Thank you for supporting this cause Shaka Hislop. #MensMentalHealth #SupportMen #BreakTheStigma #InclusiveHope #FA4MH #FirstAidForMentalHealth https://lnkd.in/esV77PAB
