Pru Red Day: Empowering Families, Securing Futures. Last Friday, November 22, 2024, we celebrated the final Pru Red Day of the year, marking the culmination of a year of impactful initiatives that have touched lives across Uganda. This time, the highlight of our efforts was a life-saving blood donation drive at strategic locations such as Capital Shoppers Ntinda, City Square, Kawempe, Kyanja, and Kansanga. Our dedicated Prudential Uganda Financial Advisors once again demonstrated their commitment to making a difference. Beyond conversations about health and financial security, we united to give back to our communities in a tangible way—donating blood to save lives and improve healthcare outcomes. With every pint of blood collected, we were reminded of the power of collective action and the value of safeguarding the future—not just through life insurance and financial planning but through acts of service that secure brighter tomorrows for all Ugandans. To our incredible agents and agency staff, your passion, dedication, and teamwork made this possible. You were the heartbeat of this initiative, and your efforts have left an indelible mark on the communities we serve. As we look back on this year’s Pru Red Days, we are proud to have gone beyond conversations. Together, we have inspired action, strengthened families, and transformed lives across Uganda.

Today, we had the pleasure of hosting the Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) at our offices. Their visit was to express gratitude for our support towards their impactful initiative to purchase two ambulances for the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS). At Prudential Uganda, we are deeply committed to creating meaningful partnerships that drive positive change in our communities. Our CEO, Tetteh Ayitevie, highlighted the importance of this collaboration and expressed our desire to strengthen this partnership to ensure long-term impact. We are also humbled by the remarks from URCS's Secretary General, Robert Kwesiga, recognizing the role of partnerships in supporting humanitarian efforts. It reaffirms our belief in the power of collaboration to address critical needs. We thank UIA’s CEO, Jonan Kisakye ACII ACSI , for their dedication to advancing this initiative and for their recognition of Prudential Uganda’s commitment to improving lives. Together, we look forward to building a sustainable fleet of ambulances that will enhance emergency response and save lives across Uganda. #LetsFaceLifeTogether #TuliNaawe

October 2023, heavy rains in Sukhothai province, approximately 400km north of Bangkok, Thailand, caused the Yom River to overflow its banks. The Sukhothai Disaster Prevention Centre reported that over 4,300 homes were flooded, impacting nearly 5,000 people. Prudence Foundation and Prudential Life Assurance Public Company Ltd. (Thailand) organized a regional volunteer program to assist in building and repairing houses and sanitation areas that were desperately needed. From November 2nd to November 8th, 2024, six colleagues from Africa, including Prudential Uganda's Amos Mukungu , joined other volunteers from Prudential businesses across Asia and the UK for this meaningful assignment. Climate change knows no boundaries and does not discriminate by race, age, religion, or social status. However, the elderly in low-income communities are among the most vulnerable. We were glad to work with these elderly individuals to rebuild their homes and repaint Yang Sai Elementary School. Beyond our role as a life and health insurer, this effort reflects our ambition to be a protector for every life and a partner for every future. Thank you to Prudential Thailand for hosting us, Prudence Foundation for organizing and funding the initiative, and the implementing partner, Fund for Older People Development, for the tremendous work on the ground.

SAFE STEPS Phase II: Transforming Road Safety Across Uganda With funding from the Prudence Foundation, Prudential Uganda, in partnership with the Uganda Red Cross Society, successfully concluded the SAFE STEPS Road Safety Phase II campaign. Over six months, we trained more than 8,000 boda-boda riders across Uganda in essential road safety and first aid skills, reaching areas like Kampala, Mbarara, Mbale, Masaka, and Mityana. Our CEO, Tetteh Ayitevie, extended heartfelt thanks to the boda riders for their dedication to the program, recognizing their commitment to making a positive impact on road safety. He encouraged them to bring even more colleagues into future training sessions, believing that together, we can create safer roads for all. Robert Kwesiga, Secretary General of the Uganda Red Cross Society, highlighted powerful stories of impact, sharing that the public has begun to see these trained riders as lifesavers, with medical facilities reporting an increase in boda riders safely transporting patients in need. ogwal alex, Principal Health Inspector at the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, expressed his appreciation for the Uganda Red Cross’s commitment to safety across Uganda and commended Prudential Uganda for instilling a sense of discipline and safety among boda riders. Guest of honor, SP kananura Michael, also thanked Prudential Uganda for the campaign’s role in raising road safety awareness and empowering boda riders to use the roads responsibly.
