Thank you Joe Hunt for this fantastic feedback! It has been a pleasure to work with the whole National Highways team this year and we look forward to continuing to develop our relationship through 2025 and beyond. As always, thanks to Piotr Wegiel, who does a brilliant job overseeing very large, complex, projects and ensure we always deliver great quality data.
In the run up to the end of the year, just reflecting on what has been a big change for me personally. Given an opportunity to move into programme management and delivery in a brand new team - it’s been tough at times but can say that we’ve had some great successes; particularly delivering a multitude of different structures surveys in Area 4, where we’ve so far completed 11No. survey sites since the 14th October; with works including PAS128 Type A verification of buried services, concrete testing, bearing and paint surveys, topographical surveys, pavement coring and much more. I can say the transition into my new role has been made all the more easier by working alongside some great contractors who are dedicated to providing excellent work and are always committed to safety. This has been particularly evident on two of these sites that were visited by the National Highways H&S team who were impressed with the level of safety shown on site and were particularly complimentary of the set-up and working on M23 Castle Street over bridge works. Looking forward to the new year, where January is already looking busy, with three more sites set to hit the ground, and a further three in the following months to take us up to the end of the financial year. A big thanks to Nico Wessels, Joshua Moulton and Johnny Jenkins from VolkerLaser, Piotr Wegiel and the team from 40SEVEN Limited and Stuart Routh. FIHE RegTTME EngTech, AIOSH, Nebosh, TSCO and the team from HW Martin (Traffic Management) Limited who have made my first few months in my new role easier every day! Cheers all, looking forward to seeing what 25/26 brings!

We have recently added a DJI Zenmuse L2 LiDAR to our fleet of surveying equipment. We fly the LiDAR, using our Drone and capture millions of points per second, providing highly detailed 3D mapping information. Using LiDAR, rather than photogrammetry, we can penetrate vegetation and accurately capture the ground surface detail, without requiring vegetation clearance. This method means that we reduce the costs and delays associated with vegetation clearance as well as reducing any potential harm to the environment and ecology. It also allows us to map areas that are difficult or unsafe to access using traditional surveying methods. The speed of surveying by drone and precision of the LiDAR significantly improves our efficiency and productivity in capturing topographical survey land surveying. If your interested in finding out more or discussing how Drone and LiDAR surveys could be beneficial for your projects, get in touch with Martyn Utley or Edward Elbrow. #LiDAR #DJIZenmuseL2 #LandSurveying #DroneTech #PrecisionMapping #DataCollection
