Congratulations to Matthias Glaser of University of Salzburg / University of Vienna, recipient of third place in the Professor Michael J. Baker Doctoral Thesis Awards sponsored by the Department of Marketing at University of Strathclyde for 'Persuasion Effects of Message Factors in Narrative Advertisements: Product-Story Link, Actor Types, and Persuasive Subtext'.
I did not bite into the #award to check the material it was made of (although I am a fan of the empirical method, I refrained from doing so because I was pretty sure it was paper 😉). I am honored to have won 3rd place in the Professor Michael J. Baker Doctoral Thesis Awards for my dissertation on narrative advertising, sponsored by the Academy of Marketing and the Department of Marketing at the University of Strathclyde. My special thanks go to Iain Davies, Anne Marie Doherty, Lisa O'Malley, Anne Foy, the Academy of Marketing and the Department of Marketing at Strathclyde and everyone involved in making this competition possible. Congratulations also to the other winners, Prof. Dr. Sven Bähre and Marie Kerekes (1st place ex-aequo). On a related note, I am becoming quite familiar with Marie's work - we both won dissertation prizes in the same three competitions. Her work is on social robots, a very timely and interesting topic given recent developments, especially in AI. Of course, my thanks also go to my Ph.D. alma mater, the University of Vienna (where I took this photo). Currently you can find me at the University of Salzburg (Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg) as part of the marketing team: https://lnkd.in/dae5JQvd If you're interested in #narratives #storytelling #marketing, you might be interested in these publications related to my dissertation: https://lnkd.in/ehzH49ef https://lnkd.in/deNqa4r8 And other publications about narratives such as how individual differences influence story effects: https://lnkd.in/d494UCwF
