It’s no secret I’m a big fan of TikTok - in fact it was what I did my first talk on back in early 2020, mostly because I loved the platform so much and because I could see the potential. And now look where we are! Will TikTok stick around, will it go? Yes, I’m based in the UK, but that doesn’t mean that whatever happens across the pond won’t impact our social media strategy. No matter what happens, this is a good reminder that social media can change at the drop of a hat, platforms come and go, and you just have to roll with it. If you’re a business wondering what to do about TikTok. My advice would be: 💎 Diversify your platforms. LinkedIn’s fairly ‘safe’ and ‘low risk’, but consider YouTube and Instagram to add into your mix too 💎 Lean into video. There’s one thing that’s not changing and that’s audience’s appetite for short form content. Get comfy on camera 💎 Don’t wait. Take action now. It’s what your competitors will be doing. Want to let them have the edge? Wait. Otherwise start testing! Stop asking 'Ready to Buy?' (Do this instead 💅) Your homepage might be doing more harm than good if it’s all “Buy now!” and no “How can we help?” Most visitors need time, trust, and value before they’re ready to commit. That means reframing your questions to meet them where they are → solving pain points, sharing insights, and building credibility. ✅ Instead of asking “Ready to schedule a consultation?” ask, “Want to double your social media engagement?” ✅ Better yet, guide them toward a micro-commitment like exploring a case study or downloading a resource. Oh, and a juicy tip 🧃 only ask questions where “yes” is the natural answer. It’ll keep your visitors engaged and moving forward.
