It's a wrap! This year we really defied gravity, detention, fascists and inhumane Rwanda policies 💪🔥 We're glad to report we are one year closer to the end of immigration detention in the UK and thanks to the support of this incredible community this year we: 📞 Answered 8,204 calls to our advice line. ⚖️ Provided free legal advice to 2,093 individuals. 💬 Delivered legal advice surgeries at detention centers and prisons to 492 people. 👨👩👧 Supported 194 parents or carers separated from 403 children. 👩⚖️ Secured at least 378 grants of bail with an 80% success rate. ❌️ Referred 115 people for unlawful detention claims. 🤝 Crowdfunded to take the Home Office to court for the Rwanda detentions. A huge thank you to our team of 10 plus over 150 volunteers - fighting the Home Office is not easy, it is painstaking much needed work and we're incredibly grateful to each of you. These accomplishments are a testament to our collective strength and dedication. Whatever next year brings, we remain resolute in our commitment to justice, freedom, and compassion. Thank you for standing with us. In solidarity, Team BID ✨

Wishing everyone in detention freedom today and always 🕊️ The Christmas season is busy for our team as many clients are desperate to reunite with their families. For every person we get out, many remain locked up, leaving their children to bear the weight of their absence today. Solidarity with all experiencing and fighting against inhumane immigration policies.
