What a great session from Ben Lambon Ralph, John Milner and the panel at #Homes2024. 'How do we create a “gold standard” for retrofit compliance and quality assurance?' is a complex question that can’t be easily solved, but steps to finding a way toward that answer had been discussed.🗣️♻️ Utilising existing data on homes, engaging with the people within them and how logistical it is to retrofit those homes is already out there. The panel urged the everyone to collaborate more and realise that sharing insights and lessons learned with the wider industry is vital in driving this programme. 🔹 19% of the workforce being under 25 leading to a skills shortage on the horizon. 🔹 70% of respondents on a YouGOV report associating “strenuous” with the industry and 52% using “dirty”. 🔹 An ever-aging workforce wanting change to the working culture and structure. These are just a few of the issues and stereotypes we see when trying to get the best people to join and stay in the construction industry.
